Lake Ammersee, forests and meadows shape Utting am Ammersee, along with panoramic views of the mountains. The area combines lakeside and natural scenery with specific activities of different kinds: a plant maze, climbing routes, a diving tower and a landing stage for Ammersee boat trips. When choosing accommodation, you can first consider whether you mainly want to experience the landscape or focus on individual activities.

Getting There and Finding Your Way

For travel by road, the official route from the Greifenberg exit on the A-96 leads via Schondorf to Utting am Ammersee. Road routes can change, so check your navigation before travelling. Ammersee boat services have a landing stage in Utting. If you are planning a boat trip, check the current timetable in advance. Another route leads from the Ammer springs via Oberammergau, Peiting, Weilheim and DieĂźen am Ammersee to Utting. The two routes have different starting points: one begins at the A-96 exit, the other at the Ammer springs.

Maze, Climbing and Diving Tower

Ex Ornamentis is a maze made of sunflowers, hemp and maize. A new design is created for visitors each year. The maze is located in the leisure area on FahrmannsbachstraĂźe in Utting.

The Ammersee high ropes course offers four climbing routes at different heights. Children aged six and over can climb on the secured Level 1 course, three to five metres above the ground.

Utting lido has a 10-metre-high diving tower.

Art in the Associated Municipality

In Holzhausen, part of the associated municipality, the Adolf Münzer Museum displays a permanent selection of Adolf Münzer’s works.

Culture in the Landsberg Am Lech Destination

The Landsberg Am Lech destination focuses on its own cultural and historical themes. The Bayertor in Landsberg am Lech has stood since 1425 and is considered one of Bavaria’s finest Gothic buildings. Landsberg am Lech is also home to the Mutterturm, an exceptional Historicist monument commissioned by Herkomer in honour of his mother. The Landsberg am Lech City Museum presents the city’s history and connects it with questions of the present day. On the Leitenberg, it offers one of the finest views of the city of Landsberg. Guided tours of Landsberg am Lech lead through the old town and recount its eventful history: its dukes and prince-electors, the salt trade, raftsmen, dyers and tanners, Jesuits and Ursulines, and legends from the Middle Ages to modern times. In the wider Landsberg Am Lech destination, Lechpark Pössinger Au is the city’s main local recreation area; its woodlands, meadows and floodplain landscape offer a natural contrast to the cultural themes mentioned above.
