Eurasburg combines a hike in Eurasburg Forest with church art and cultural history in Beuerberg. This makes it easy to plan your trip around different interests: a route of around ten kilometres puts the focus firmly on hiking, while the Church of the Holy Cross, Beuerberg Monastery and the Lausbubengeschichten trail offer further cultural themes.

Hiking and Architectural History

The approximately 10-kilometre hiking route around Eurasburg starts at the church square and runs mostly through different parts of Eurasburg Forest. Its approximate length provides a clear measure for balancing the hike against other local interests when planning your day. The forest is the main focus, while the Church of the Holy Cross adds a cultural-historical dimension.

Located on Kirchberg, the church is considered a landmark of Eurasburg and is of Romanesque origin. It was extended in two further building phases, around 1550 and 1875. Its architectural history can thus be traced from its Romanesque origins through two later phases of expansion. A 1.50-metre-high cross dedicated to the Holy Cross, bearing the dates 1649 and 1717, is included in the register of church art in Bavaria. Alongside the development of the building, the dimensions and dates of this work of art stand out as details in their own right.

Monastery and Film History in Beuerberg

Beuerberg Monastery reopened in June 2025 as a church cultural centre with a hotel and seminar house, following a comprehensive renovation.

The Lausbubengeschichten trail offers a different perspective. It leads through Beuerberg and its surroundings to original locations from the Lausbuben films. Information boards and QR codes featuring original film scenes are placed at the filming locations. While the monastery focuses on church cultural history, this trail follows the film locations and their associated scenes.
