When planning a stay in Courchevel 1550, you can choose from a range of activities: water and wellness, wheeled activities, tobogganing, outdoor trails or local heritage. Aquamotion and the pump track are located in Courchevel Village, and several trail descriptions also lead there. The activities differ considerably in character and in the seasonal or weather-related conditions that may affect your plans.
Water, Wellness and Tobogganing
Aquamotion offers swimming pools, slides, a spa and wellness facilities for the whole family. The centre is located in Courchevel Village, at 1297 route des Eaux Vives. This makes it easy to plan a visit around swimming, slides or wellness. The address is a useful landmark if Aquamotion is on your itinerary.
The toboggan run between Courchevel 1850 and Courchevel Village offers a different kind of activity. It is 2 kilometres long and runs through the forest. The route is fully lit from start to finish, so it can also be used at night; it operates seasonally. At the end, the run is in Courchevel Village, next to the bottom station of the Grangettes gondola. Lift arrangements may change seasonally.
Pump Track and Outdoor Trails
The Courchevel pump track is located on rue des Eaux Vives in the Grandes Combes area of Courchevel Village. It consists of four loops with increasing levels of difficulty and covers a total of about 325 metres, with a riding surface of 1,250 square metres. The enclosed circuit has rollers and banked turns and is designed for mountain bikes, BMX bikes, skateboards, scooters and roller skates. The facility is freely accessible, but closed in winter; weather can also affect its use. Its different loops and progressive level of difficulty set it apart from a simple, straight track.
The trails offer different landmarks. The “Sentiers balcons” trail runs alongside the Torrent des Gravelles and passes above Aquamotion. The “Sentiers balcons, de Courchevel 1850 à Courchevel Village” route reaches Courchevel Village via the Plan du Vah landscape area. Snow and weather can affect trail access. From the Courchevel Village stop, the “Sentiers balcons” trail also offers a return to Courchevel 1850 by shuttle bus. Since shuttle arrangements may change seasonally, it is advisable to check the timetable for your planned visit.
The “Autour de Courchevel Village et Le Praz” route is also available in the area around Courchevel Village and Le Praz. Access is subject to the season and weather. This information adds another named route to the selection without equating it with the more specifically described trail routes.
Local Craftsmanship and Other Activities
Courchevel Village’s heritage is also visible in its wooden and stone boundary fences, which can still be seen and reflect distinctive local craftsmanship. Several hamlets with notable architectural heritage, including Vilaflou, can be discovered around Courchevel Village and Le Praz. For those interested in building traditions, these offer concrete examples of local craft and settlement history alongside the leisure activities.
The ESF Courchevel Village offers guided ski touring with skins; this activity is seasonal. The ESF also offers group and private lessons, which are likewise subject to seasonal availability. Together with the trails, toboggan run and pump track, these make up a selection of different activities, each of which is affected primarily by the season and weather.
