Les Adrets offers a tangible connection to local history in Saint-André Church; for activities in the mountains, it is also worth looking at Prapoutel at the Les 7 Laux resort.

History and art in Les Adrets

Saint-André Church is the oldest building in the municipality of Les Adrets. It has been mentioned since the 11th century and was rebuilt in 1840, while retaining its original bell tower. The artworks in the church include a wooden Christ from the 15th century and a Madonna and Child from the 18th century. These are joined by modern stained-glass windows and a contemporary Stations of the Cross. Historical figures and more recent design elements stand side by side here, making the church a specific destination for culturally minded travelers.

Prapoutel: location, access and activities

Prapoutel is located at an altitude of 1,350 meters on the western side of the Les 7 Laux resort. It is 35 kilometers from Grenoble and 45 kilometers from Chambéry. The drive from Grenoble to Prapoutel follows the A41 to Brignoud, then the D250 through Les Adrets, and from Col des Ayes the D281. Part of the described route therefore passes through Les Adrets before continuing to Prapoutel.

In Prapoutel, in the 7 Laux forest in the Belledonne massif, Belledonne Outdoor offers seven adventure courses of varying difficulty. The park is about a two-minute walk from the parking lot near VVF Villages. Since the courses’ availability and layout may change, check before making your plans.

Summer in Prapoutel and at Lac de la Jasse

In summer, Prapoutel offers an outdoor pool, mini golf, archery, disc golf, orienteering courses, mountain biking, Trot’rX and numerous hiking trails. The options range from individual leisure activities to ways to get active outdoors. Seasonal offerings may change, so check what is available during your preferred dates.

A hike leads from Prapoutel to Lac de la Jasse. The tourist office updated the trail details in July 2024: the loop is 8 kilometers long and reaches an altitude of 1,861 meters. The route is family-friendly; in particular, the chairlift can make the ascent easier, although its operation depends on the season and weather. Below Dôme des Oudis, the lake offers a picnic setting surrounded by meadows. Since local access conditions may change, check them before your outing.

Winter activities at the Les 7 Laux resort

In winter, Prapoutel is a starting point for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and downhill skiing. Snowshoe trails start at the resort’s three locations: Prapoutel, Pipay and Le Pleynet. The trails depend on snow and operating conditions. Guided snowshoe outings may also include looking for fox and chamois tracks in the Belledonne massif; these outings are available seasonally. When planning, it is therefore worth distinguishing between the trail starting points and the guided tour options.
