Puget-sur-Argens offers different ways to discover its landscapes, history and regional wine. To plan your stay, start by choosing your focus: a panoramic view and a hike, historic buildings and toy history, or vineyard and cellar tours. A festival adds its own event format to the mix. These differences give you concrete ideas for deciding which discoveries to include in your stay.

Hiking with panoramic views and history

The Sentier des Meulières offers 360-degree panoramic views stretching from Rocher de Roquebrune across the mouth of the Argens to Mont Vinaigre. Along the way, you can also discover a former millstone quarry. So, in addition to the expansive scenery, the route also offers a specific connection to local history.

The Circuit des 3 lacs is an easy 6-kilometre hike that takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. This makes it easy to set aside a manageable block of time for the route. Check the route details before setting out. While the Sentier des Meulières stands out for its panoramic views and former millstone quarry, the Circuit has clearly stated figures for its length, difficulty level and approximate duration.

Buildings and toy history

The area's architecture also offers specific points of interest: the Tour de l'Horloge was built on the former fortifications and has an 18th-century campanile. The Church of Saint-Jacques in Puget-sur-Argens is dedicated to Saint James and dates from the 16th century. The two buildings represent different periods, from the church's 16th-century origins to the clock tower's campanile.

The Musée Bien Jouet focuses on toys from several decades. The museum displays 1,500 antique toys dating from 1860 to 1970, from a collection of 5,000 pieces in total. It also exhibits toys from 1980 to 2000, including “GOLDORAK and his friends”. This offers a look at everything from historic pieces to a much later era of toys. Special exhibits may change; check the current visitor arrangements before your visit.

Vineyards, cellars and tastings

The wineries offer different types of tours. Domaine du Mas des Escaravatiers covers a 30-hectare estate in Puget-sur-Argens and offers cellar tours followed by wine tastings. At Château de Cabran, tours of the vineyards and cellars are available, ending with a complimentary tasting. Domaine du Bercail offers guided tours of its vineyards and cellars, as well as a tasting of its products.

You can choose according to the experience you want: a cellar tour with a tasting, a visit to vineyards and cellars ending with a complimentary tasting, or a guided tour with a tasting of the estate's products. Check the booking arrangements for tours in advance. The options offer different ways to explore wine without requiring you to follow a particular itinerary.

Festival with a changing programme

The Le Mas des Escaravatiers festival features concerts, brunches with live music and pool parties in the garden of a Provençal mas. Dates and programme vary. If you want to plan your trip around a particular event, check the festival dates before making plans. This format is distinct from the year-round attractions described here, such as historic buildings, the museum and hiking trails.
