Port-De-Bouc offers a variety of reasons to stay: digital art, an urban art trail, forest and birdwatching, and water sports. Two details are particularly useful for planning: the Sentier des oiseaux is 5.2 kilometres long, while the Base nautique is open only on certain days during its seasonal operating period. This helps you assess which experiences will shape your travel dates before choosing a hotel.

Digital Collection and Urban Art

The Micro-Folie de Port de Bouc, established in 2025 at the Centre d’arts Fernand Léger, is a digital museum. It brings together several thousand masterpieces from numerous institutions and national museums. The works actually on display may change. So if you are interested in a particular work or subject, check in advance what is currently being presented.

The offering also includes immersive 360-degree content in a virtual reality area, including documentaries and performances. This gives you a choice of different formats: the digital collection on the one hand, and immersive content on the other. The programme may change; if a particular film or performance is essential to your visit, check the current offering in advance.

Since 2020, the Les Nouveaux Ateliers project has been transforming Port-de-Bouc into an urban art trail unique in France. Its cultural focus differs from that of the Micro-Folie: urban art rather than digitally brought-together works and virtual reality content. This lets you choose between different cultural themes when planning your visit.

Forest and Birdwatching

The 288-hectare Forêt domaniale de Castillon lies north of Port-De-Bouc and is surrounded by four ponds. Activities available there include hiking, running, horse riding, mountain biking, exploring the natural and cultural heritage, and family picnics. The facilities also include car parks, information boards and a rest area. The forest therefore offers several ways to spend time outdoors, with a choice of exercise, exploration or a break.

The Sentier des oiseaux at Étang du Pourra has a more specific focus. On the 5.2-kilometre trail, you can spot grey herons, mallards, coots, greater flamingos and shelducks. Its length gives you a clear point of reference when choosing a trail, while the species mentioned make birdwatching its particular focus. Unlike the range of activities in the Forêt domaniale de Castillon, this trail centres on a particular kind of nature observation.

Harbour and Seasonal Water Sports

The Port de Plaisance “Renaissance” in Port-de-Bouc offers direct access to the sea and 530 berths. Reception and surveillance are staffed around the clock. If these services are important to your plans, confirm the current details before using the port.

At the Base nautique on Plage de Bottaï, holidaymakers can try or take part in windsurfing, sailing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. Seasonal opening hours run from 1 July to 25 August: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Check visiting hours before your trip. If water sports are the deciding factor for your stay, consider not only the dates but also whether one of these weekdays and afternoons fits your plans.
