There are two ways to discover Rouffiac: via the leisure area on the banks of the Charente and the adjoining Flow Vélo, or via Saint-Vivien church with its historic and artistic details. There is also a music programme with dates to check, as well as tours and rental services.

Flow Vélo and the Charente

Rouffiac’s leisure area is on the banks of the Charente and borders the Flow Vélo cycling route. There is also a chain ferry on the route in Rouffiac, which crosses the Charente. The leisure area and the ferry are two separate points of reference: the slipway is at the leisure area and is used to launch boats, while the chain ferry provides a river crossing on the route.

The leisure area also has a children’s playground, which is open to everyone. So, as well as being a cycling landmark, this stretch of the river has specific features for a visit to the area: access for launching boats and a place to take a play break.

Saint-Vivien and the cultural programme

Saint-Vivien church preserves remains dating from the 12th century. The sanctuary contains a painted ceiling created between 1793 and 1809. The church’s oldest bell is displayed beneath the gallery at the entrance. The contrast in dates is striking: the remains point to the 12th century, the ceiling to the years 1793 to 1809; the bell adds a tangible exhibit at the entrance to the architecture.

During a tour of Domaine Seguin Emmanuel, Emmanuel explains the Charentaise distillation method at the still; a tasting is offered afterwards. The estate produces Cognac and Pineau des Charentes.
