Several different reasons to stay come together around Luzoir: the Scandibérique crosses the Oise here via footbridges and a ford, another cycling route passes through several towns, and a walking route connects Luzoir with Wimy. Other options include rides on a Rosalie and Axe Parc. When planning your trip, it is particularly helpful to understand the differences between the route, the available rental durations and individual cultural sites. This lets you focus on cycling, walking or a visit to the park without confusing the different options.

Cycling route and river crossing

Near Luzoir, the Scandibérique crosses the Oise via footbridges and a ford. This river crossing is a distinctive feature of this section of the route. The Blangy–Luzoir cycling route offers a different point of reference: it passes through Luzoir, Ohis, Wimy, Neuve-Maison, Effry and Buire. These descriptions provide two different ways to find your bearings: the Scandibérique stands out for its river crossing, while Blangy–Luzoir can be identified by the sequence of towns it passes through. When comparing cycling routes, you can start by considering whether a notable crossing or the list of towns is more useful for your plans.

A route description updated in July 2025 lists “Menu enfant, sauce Thiérache, au départ de Luzoir” as a family cycling loop starting from Luzoir. Check whether the route is currently available before making specific plans.

Rides and leisure in the park

Thiérache Rosalie offers rides on a Rosalie for visiting the Voie Verte de Thiérache. Three rental durations are available: by the hour, for half a day or for a full day. Choosing a duration helps you fit the ride into your day. Visiting the Voie Verte is the stated purpose; the rental duration is a separate practical planning factor.

Axe Parc in Luzoir offers a different kind of visit. The family park has a zip line, trampolines, inflatable play equipment, a carousel and small animals. Ice cream, soft drinks and crêpes are available on site. Check the opening hours before planning a specific visit.

Walking route and local heritage

The walk “Au cœur du bocage thiérachien entre Luzoir et Wimy” connects the two towns and partly follows the Scandibérique, also known as EuroVelo 3. The shared stretch covers only part of the walk; Luzoir and Wimy are the two towns connected by the full route. Along the walking route, a small religious oratory on a small square, about 70 metres after waypoint 13, is a reminder of local religious heritage.

Near Luzoir’s former railway station on the Axe Vert is the small, well-restored Saint-Sylvestre Chapel. The locations differ: the oratory is on the walking route, while Saint-Sylvestre is near the former station on the Axe Vert.
