Ernée offers a range of different interests: are you more drawn to religious art and prehistory, nature, or motocross? Your interests can shape the focus of your stay. Visits range from a route with stops to a time-specific event.

Church art and historic heritage

Notre-Dame de l’Assomption is Ernée’s current parish church and has four 18th-century altarpieces. Their number and date provide a specific point of interest for art lovers within the church’s furnishings. The Chapelle de Charné adds another feature to the cultural offering: it is listed as a historic monument. Self-guided visits are available; check before travelling whether this option is available when you plan to visit.

A route and a prehistoric monument

The Balade des 3 Subious is freely accessible all year round. Its 14 stops feature texts and illustrations, dividing the route into several points for reading and viewing. The Dolmen de la Contrie, by contrast, places a prehistoric monument at the centre of the visit. It can be visited on any day of the year with a short walk; nevertheless, check the conditions on site before your visit. The dolmen dates from the Late Neolithic (5th to 3rd millennium BC) and the beginning of the Bronze Age (3rd to 1st millennium BC). Choosing between the two means weighing a route with stops against a short walk to a prehistoric destination. Both can be visited year-round; the Balade is freely accessible, while you should check the conditions on site in advance for the dolmen.

Nature conservation and walks

The Les Bizeuls recreational area covers seven hectares. In the Bizeuls regional nature reserve, a purpose-built discovery trail raises public awareness of the area’s protection. The regionally protected marsh cinquefoil grows in the Les Bizeuls marshland. At Plan d’eau Les Cardamines, by contrast, walking is the main attraction: the site is accessible to everyone and is suitable for family walks. The nature attractions therefore have different focuses: Bizeuls draws attention to habitat protection and plant life, while Cardamines is a place for family walks.

Motocross and Saint Grégoire

Motocross is also one of Ernée’s attractions. Circuit Raymond Demy is one of the largest motocross tracks in France. The Moto-Club d’Ernée has, among other events, hosted eleven motocross Grand Prix races. This offers two perspectives: the scale of the track and the club’s history as an event organiser. Saint Grégoire reaches its 30th edition in 2026. If you are planning a trip around the event, check the event dates.
