Beaucouzé brings together cultural and natural attractions for a stay with a range of possible focuses. Exhibitions are held at the Grange Dîmière, while the art trail and urban trail offer different ways to explore the area. There are also the Saint-Nicolas parks and around ten walking routes ranging from 1 to 10 km. You can therefore plan your visit around a cultural event, a route through the urban landscape or your preferred walking distance.

Exhibitions and Trails in Beaucouzé

The Grange Dîmière hosts around twelve exhibitions a year as part of its cultural season. The exhibitions are free and open to everyone. As the programme may change, check the current selection and visiting arrangements before your visit. This lets you match a specific cultural event to your travel dates rather than planning around exhibitions without checking the programme at the time.

The art trail is located along the Coulée verte des Echats and connects several districts of Beaucouzé. In 2024, it was renamed the Frida Kahlo Promenade. Also added in 2024 was Bancs de Poissons. The work was created as part of an artist residency and supported by the Maine-et-Loire Department and through cultural patronage from LogiOuest. The urban trail, inaugurated in 2015, offers a different way to explore the area: it leads to seven buildings in the town centre. This allows you to choose between a trail connected to the Coulée verte and several districts, and a route to buildings in the centre.

Parks and Walking Routes

The Saint-Nicolas parks cover 172 hectares and extend across Angers, Avrillé and Beaucouzé. The park therefore spans several municipalities and reaches beyond Beaucouzé. If you want to focus on the landscape, this wider setting offers a different starting point from routes centred on individual districts or buildings.

Beaucouzé has around ten walking routes ranging from 1 to 10 km. This range gives you a concrete guide for choosing a route: 1 km is short by comparison, while 10 km is a considerably longer distance. You can choose your walk according to the distance you want, rather than focusing only on the general theme of walking. The park and the routes offer different scales for planning: a landscape that spans several municipalities or a route with a stated length.

Take the Bus to the Maison de la Culture et des Loisirs

The Maison de la Culture et des Loisirs can be reached on Irigo bus line 2, getting off at the Grand Pin stop. Bus routes and stops may change, so check the current service before travelling. For this visit, you have a specific point of reference for travelling by bus: line 2 and the Grand Pin stop.

Whether you want to focus on a cultural visit, a trail or a walking route, Beaucouzé offers several distinct ways to plan your time. The main factors to consider are the exhibition programme, the setting of each trail and the distance you want to walk.
