Querqueville brings together two distinct travel interests: a seaside stay and buildings from different centuries. The harbor has 60 berths in the inner harbor and 88 in the bay. Historical landmarks include the Chapel of Saint-Germain, which probably dates from the 9th century, and the 18th-century Château. These different highlights can help guide your choice of holiday rental: consider whether beach activities, the running trail or exploring historic buildings will be the main focus of your stay.

Coast and Beach Activities

La Goule de Braye is a landscaped 1.5-hectare recreation area directly beside the sea. This provides another place to enjoy waterside leisure in addition to the beach. Querqueville’s public, developed beach is supervised daily from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., July 1 through August 31. If supervised swimming hours are important to you, plan your visit around these times. As seasonal supervision hours may be updated by the local authority, check the latest information before your visit.

Beach facilities include a children’s playground, pétanque, volleyball, beach volleyball and beach soccer courts, as well as unsupervised water sports. Tiralo beach wheelchairs help make the area accessible; confirm their availability locally. As individual facilities may change, it is worth making a quick inquiry, especially about services you will rely on during your visit.

The beach running trail is 9 kilometers long and suitable for beginners. Green markers numbered 7 and yellow painted trail markings show the way. The distance and suitability give you an idea of the route, while the markings help you follow it on site. As trail conditions may change and route markers may be updated, check the latest information before setting out.

Buildings from Different Centuries

The Chapel of Saint-Germain in Querqueville is considered the oldest monument in the urban area and probably dates from the 9th century. Its very rare trilobed floor plan is an unusual architectural feature; traces of frescoes are also visible on the interior walls. The floor plan and wall paintings offer different points of interest: one is a feature of the building’s shape, the other of its interior walls.

The Château de Querqueville is an 18th-century building in the Floris Valley. In front of it is a public park for walks. The façade features a slightly projecting pavilion, framed by two granite pilasters and topped with a triangular pediment. The pavilion projects slightly from the façade; the pilasters and pediment frame it at the sides and above. These three specific architectural features make it possible to follow the building’s described design.

The Manoir de la Coquerie dates from the 16th century and is listed in the supplementary inventory of historic monuments. It retains fortified architectural elements and features Renaissance decoration added over earlier buildings. These details bring together different architectural features: defensive elements alongside a later decorative layer. Querqueville Fort is also one of the forts located to the west.
