Discover Bréhal through a range of interests: walking routes between the coast and bocage, water sports, the Blue Flag beach at Saint-Martin-de-Bréhal, and historic buildings each offer a different perspective. There are also several ways to plan your walks: 14 downloadable route guides, a walk to Bout du Monde rated as easy, and a hiking route with a recommended starting point.

Walking routes with different planning options

For Bréhal, 14 downloadable topographic route guides are available for walks between the coast and the bocage countryside. They give you several route options to plan from if hiking is part of your stay. The walk to Bout du Monde is rated as easy. For the “Pierres à ciel ouvert” hiking route, the recommended starting point is the Rue de la Plage car park in Bréhal. If you mainly want to choose a route, start with the 14 route guides; if a named destination or a specific starting point matters more, Bout du Monde or Rue de la Plage offer two other reference points. Check current route conditions before setting out.

Water sports at the nautical centre

The Bréhal nautical centre offers catamaran sailing, wingfoiling, windsurfing, canoeing and kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, outrigger canoeing, and land sailing. The range extends from sailing and paddling activities to land sailing, so you can narrow down your water sports options by the type of activity you want. Check dates and availability before making firm plans; both may vary.

Building history from the grain hall to the windmill

The Halle au blé in the centre of Bréhal was built in the late 19th century, converted into a covered market hall in 1914, and renovated in 2020. This sequence of construction, conversion and renovation reveals several historical phases in the building’s history.

The Moulin de Hutrel windmill offers a different historical perspective: it was built in the 18th century, overlooks the coast, and ceased operating in 1865. Unlike the hall, the mill’s historical significance centres on when it was built, its coastal location and the end of its operations.

Beach and leisure activities

The beach at Saint-Martin-de-Bréhal in Bréhal is one of the Blue Flag beaches in Destination Granville Terre et Mer. As this status should be checked again for future seasons, check its status for your travel dates before your trip.

At the Village Trottin site in Bréhal, on-site activities include mini golf, pedal boating, fishing and inflatable play equipment; the latter is intended for children. Activities may be seasonal. If a particular activity is essential for your travel dates, check in advance whether it will be available then.
