The easy “Animaux d'eau, anim'au dos” walk follows ponds and a reconstructed stream; eight educational stops add interest along the route. La Source Garouste offers a different focus, with workshops and parkland. For a longer walk, Le Chemin des Isles offers a considerably more extensive route, with its length, duration and trail conditions clearly specified.

La Source Garouste and the Parc de la Poultière

La Source Garouste is located in several buildings in the wooded Parc de la Poultière, which covers two hectares. The facilities include a blacksmith’s workshop, a ceramic kiln and a photography lab. The park features protected ponds, as well as areas for Land Art and outdoor activities. In this way, crafts, photography and art sit alongside a landscape-focused outdoor setting. If you would like to plan your visit around culture or time outdoors, you can weigh up these different highlights. As programmes and access arrangements may change, please check the latest information before visiting. The term Land Art refers to art that incorporates the landscape itself. In the Parc de la Poultière, it describes the artistic focus of the designated park areas.

The “Animaux d'eau, anim'au dos” walk

This easy walk is 1.2 kilometres long and takes about 45 minutes. It has eight educational stops; the backpack provided for the walk can be picked up at the café or at La Guéroulde town hall. The route passes restored ponds, several pools and the banks of a reconstructed stream. Waterbirds can be seen there. The short walk thus combines an educational format with specific bodies of water and habitats. Its approximate duration provides a timeframe for planning your day, while the stops and landscape features shape the content of the walk.

Le Chemin des Isles: a longer loop

Le Chemin des Isles is marked in blue and can be used on foot or by mountain bike. It is 8.5 kilometres long, with an average duration of 2 hours and 15 minutes. Compared directly with the easy walk of about 45 minutes and 1.2 kilometres, its considerably greater length and time commitment become clear. Le Chemin des Isles also has an elevation gain of 36 metres, and 60 percent of the route is on unpaved paths. The distance and average duration help you estimate how much time to allow; the elevation gain and trail surface add further specific details about the route. The blue markings and stated options for travelling on foot or by mountain bike also identify the route type.
