La Forêt-Du-Parc offers three specific starting points for planning your trip: the Église Notre-Dame in the town centre, traces of a former railway connection and local trails leading to two hamlets. The municipality lies in a landscape of forests and farmland. Cultural history and outdoor activities offer different options for planning your day. If you are looking for accommodation for your stay, first consider whether you would like to focus mainly on local history, the trails or a suitable event date.

Church and sacred heritage

The Église Notre-Dame is the main cultural site in the town centre. It was rebuilt in the 15th and 16th centuries; this dating provides a timeframe for the building’s history. In an exterior niche in the ambulatory is the protected statue “Vierge à l'Enfant dite Notre-Dame des Egarés”, which may date from the 17th century. An ambulatory is the passageway around a church’s choir; this location places the sculpture at a specific point within the building.

Another religious landmark is in a nearby cemetery: an old calvary stands there on a grave several centuries old. The church, niche statue and burial site offer different ways to explore local cultural history—from the rebuilt place of worship and a single protected work of art to the historic grave with its calvary.

Railway history and landscape

The former La Forêt-du-Parc railway station opened in 1883 on the Dreux–Saint-Aubin-du-Vieil-Évreux–Évreux line and is now closed. A former railway keeper’s house is also still visible in the municipality. The date places the station in its historical context; its closure is just as important for planning your trip as its former role in local history. Treat it as a historical trace, not as an active station for your journey.

Forests and farmland shape the landscape around the town. Together with the visible traces of the former railway, they create a rural setting that can be explored differently from the cultural history around the church: here through the landscape and built heritage, there through church architecture and sacred art.

Local trails and their destinations

There are trails for walking and cycling within the municipality. Two routes are described by destination and direction: one local trail leads from the town centre to the hamlet of La Forêt in the northeast, and another to the hamlet of Longtouche in the northwest. Note the difference between La Forêt-Du-Parc and the hamlet of La Forêt: the latter is the destination of the northeastern route.

The two directions can be compared as different excursion destinations. La Forêt lies northeast of the town centre, and Longtouche lies northwest. You can choose a trail based on which hamlet you would like to visit; the local trails are mentioned for walking and cycling. These destinations offer a different focus from the church in the town centre: rather than staying by a cultural landmark, the route takes you towards one of the two hamlets.

A possible date in August

A “foire à tout”, or flea market, is scheduled in La Forêt-Du-Parc for the Saturday after 15 August. If you would like to plan your trip around this date, check in advance whether the market is taking place before arranging your arrival or departure around it. This makes the event a specific item on your itinerary, while recognising that it needs to be confirmed.
