Robecq offers a variety of reasons to explore: protected features in Église Saint-Maurice, a historic farmhouse on the Sentier des Tchiens, a circular route covering the Battle of the Lys, as well as walks and canoeing. When choosing a stay, it helps to consider these different options: church furnishings, architectural history, a historic trail theme, a walk or a trip on the water each offer a different focus. That way, you can choose Robecq based on the subject that interests you most, rather than combining all the options into a single outing.

Church furnishings and architectural history

Église Saint-Maurice contains six protected objects. A pulpit and a reliquary bust of Saint Maurice are among the protected furnishings. These examples give a tangible sense of the heritage focus; at the same time, the number six refers to the entire protected collection, not just the two pieces mentioned. If you are interested in cultural history, these names offer a clear starting point without the need for a longer list.

The Sentier des Tchiens offers another historic point of interest: the path passes the Ferme de la Biette. The building was constructed in 1768, was formerly called “la petite abbaye” and is probably the oldest building in the village. Unlike the church, the focus here is on the history of a single building: its year of construction, former name and the cautious assessment of its age give this stop its own distinct character.

Trails with a historical theme

Another circular route is dedicated to the Battle of the Lys. One of its stops is the cemetery on Robecq British Road. If you plan to include this route in your stay, check the current route before setting out. This lets you include the cemetery as a named stop on the loop without confusing it with the Sentier des Tchiens by the farmhouse.

On foot or on the water

For a walk, you can plan a visit to Verger du trou sans fond, where you can explore on foot. Les T'Chiens, on the other hand, is a hiking trail starting in Robecq and endorsed by FFRandonnée. These offer different starting points for your plans: a walk in the orchard or a route specifically designated as a hiking trail. If you choose Les T'Chiens, check the current trail conditions locally.

Canoeing is also possible in Robecq. The launch point is near Parc de la Biette, and the landing point is at the football stadium. This gives you two specific landmarks for the activity. That sets it apart from a walk in the orchard, where the place itself is the main focus. Whether you would rather explore on foot or plan a canoe trip, you will find a different focus for your stay.
