The Voie Verte Passa Païs crosses the commune, while the challenging Lou Camin hiking trail also passes through Bout-du-Pont-de-Larn. This gives you two very different types of route to choose from: an easy route to cycle or walk along a former railway line, and a hike explicitly rated as difficult. When planning your trip, you can start by considering which type of route better suits your interests.

Two routes with different profiles

The Voie Verte Passa Païs is 80 kilometres long and runs between Mazamet and Bédarieux. Its peaceful route passes through the Haut-Languedoc, from the forests of the Montagne Noire to the first vineyards of Hérault. Its easy rating contrasts with its considerable total length, so both the character of the trail and the scope of the route are relevant when choosing. Its course along a former railway line and the landscapes it traverses define this option.

Lou Camin offers a different focus. This 27-kilometre, difficult hiking trail leads from Lac des Saints-Peyres to the Gorges du Banquet, passing through Pont-de-Larn, Saint-Amans-Valtoret and Bout-du-Pont-de-Larn. The contrast is clear: Passa Païs is the longer route and is described as easy, while Lou Camin is a shorter but explicitly difficult hike. Their length and difficulty provide two different points of reference when deciding which route you would like to shape your trip.

Events by the river and in the meadow

Events also give a stay different character. The Feu de la Saint-Jean takes place every year in the large meadow at the L’Estrade leisure area. The Guinguettes d’Arcachon are recurring summer events held on the banks of the Arn in Bout-du-Pont-de-Larn. For the 2026 edition, dates were scheduled for 17, 24 and 31 July, and 7, 14 and 21 August. Orchestras perform at the Guinguette d’Arcachon, with music and dancing at the heart of the event. A local association handles the refreshments and offers a simple selection of food. The meadow at L’Estrade and the banks of the Arn are therefore venues for different events. If you want to plan your trip around a particular edition, check the dates for the relevant period.

Leisure and architectural history

Bout-du-Pont-de-Larn has a leisure area and a fitness trail. There is also a permanently open children’s play area and an outdoor fitness area. These facilities add more ways to spend your time to the trails and events, without requiring you to plan a particular excursion.

For those interested in architectural history, the industrial farm complex of La Roque offers another point of interest. Its enclosed courtyard defines the complex, which was probably built in the early 19th century. La Roque is private, so you should not assume that you can visit the interior. The complex adds a historical perspective on a distinctive courtyard layout to the local trail and event themes.

When looking for a holiday rental, it may help to first decide what you want to focus on during your trip: would you mainly like to compare the different types of trail, are you more interested in the events programme, or would you also like to include leisure facilities and architectural history? If you are interested in events, it is also worth checking the dates for the relevant edition.
