With hiking routes, a Romanesque church and farming experiences, Sazos offers a variety of ways to enjoy a stay. The L’Agnouède hike leads to the Mensongé waterfall; Saint-Julien Church combines Romanesque architecture with 16th-century wall paintings. At Ferme des Cascades, the focus is on cheese production, gardens and visits by reservation.

Romanesque Church and Historic Traces
Saint-Julien de Sazos Church is Romanesque. Its historiated tympanum and capitals depict mythical animals. Inside are 16th-century wall paintings featuring Adam and Eve and Saint George; they were uncovered during the 1999 restoration.
The municipality opens the church on Wednesday afternoons. Guided visits for groups and individuals are available on request. Access information may change; check before visiting.
Notre-Dame des Bergers, on the hill, was once a gathering place for shepherds at the beginning and end of the transhumance. Its historic role was therefore tied to the two transitions of this seasonal change of pasture.
Mills and Farming Culture
During a visit to Moulin de Sazos, the mill is demonstrated in operation. Visitor offerings are seasonal, so check the dates in advance.
Ferme des Cascades is located in Sazos on the GR 10 and sells its products directly. These include tommes and various goat’s milk cheeses, including fresh and soft cheeses, feuilletés, Fromchos and “Fondue Pyrénéenne”.
