On the Hautes-Pyrénées side of the resort, Peyresourde-Balestas is located at an altitude of around 1,600 metres. From here, you can enjoy far-reaching views of the Pyrenees. Activities range from scenic flights at the Altiport to bike park routes and activities with Nordic dogs in the Balestas forest. When planning, it is worth treating these options as separate activities rather than as one package: they differ in how they work, the time they take and seasonal conditions.

Scenic flights from the altiport

The Peyragudes Air Club offers scenic flights from the Peyresourde Balestas altiport. Flights are designed for one to three passengers and last no more than 30 minutes. This sets a clear upper limit on the duration, though the actual flight may be shorter. A scenic flight is therefore a time-limited activity to include in your schedule. Availability and booking arrangements may change, so check these details before making firm plans to fly.

Bike park with seasonal lift operation

The Peyragudes Bike Park offers numerous routes between Loudenvielle and Peyragudes, as well as on the resort sides of Agudes and Peyresourde. You can use the Skyvall valley lift and the Privilège and du Lac chairlifts. Lift operation and pass conditions vary by season. If your plans depend on one of these facilities, check the conditions for your intended period.

Activities with Nordic dogs

The Sherpa base is located in the Balestas forest. With 40 Nordic dogs, it offers leisure activities throughout the year. Options include Cani-Kart, where a team of 10 to 12 dogs pulls an all-terrain vehicle. Cani-Rando is a guided hike with Nordic dogs; dog-pulled children’s trailers, called sulkys, are available for small children. Sherpa also offers an educational park visit where you can discover the world of sled dogs.

The activities have different focuses: Cani-Kart centres on a ride in an all-terrain vehicle, Cani-Rando on a guided hike, and the park visit on educational discovery. Booking and age requirements for Cani-Kart and Cani-Rando may change. The rules for visiting the park may also change; check the conditions for the activity you wish to choose.

Equipment hire and travel season

You can hire all-terrain pushchairs at the Maison de Peyragudes. Hire availability varies by season, so if you plan to use this option, check in advance.

Another difference is worth considering when choosing when to travel: Sherpa offers leisure activities throughout the year, while lift operation and pass conditions at the bike park vary by season. You can therefore decide whether year-round activities or seasonal lift conditions should shape your stay more. When looking for a holiday rental, this distinction can help you set your travel priorities first.
