Chapels and Churches

The Chapelle de Pitié was destroyed during the war and rebuilt in 1948; volunteers from the Association de la Voye restored it. The chapel is accessible by car and open year-round. As local conditions may change temporarily, it is advisable to check the latest information before setting off.

The Église Saint-Blaise was built in 1733 and renovated in the 19th century. Its stained-glass windows date from 1947. The organ was made by Jean-Nicolas Jeanpierre in 1835; Henri Didier rebuilt it in 1871. These dates mark different phases of construction and furnishing.

Views and Landscape

The Cascade du Heuchau is located in the commune of Le Menil at an altitude of 550 m. It may run dry during periods of drought; bear this in mind if the waterfall is the main focus of your visit. At the TĂȘte des Champs, an orientation table at an altitude of 997 m offers panoramic views: south over the Moselle Valley and north over the Moselotte Valley.

At Grande Roche, there is a bench and a viewpoint overlooking the village of Le Menil and the Ballon de Servance; visibility depends on the weather. The viewpoints offer different vistas: from the TĂȘte des Champs, you can see the two valleys; from Grande Roche, the village and the Ballon.

Circular Routes and Climbing

The Circuit poussette Le Ménil is a 2.7 km circular route; the stated duration is 1 hour and 15 minutes. It starts at the Bureau d'information touristique du Ménil. This information helps you plan how much time to allow. Conditions and signage may change; check the latest situation before setting out.

The Circuit de la Chapelle de PitiĂ© starts at the car park of the Parcours sportif (Chalet Tutur). After weather events, it may be useful to confirm local trail access information. The Chapelle de la Salette is an old wayside shrine and can be reached on foot, including via a blue-marked trail to the TĂȘte des Champs. The chapel can be reached on foot outside periods of heavy snowfall.

The TĂȘte de BeaudevĂ© climbing area is suitable for beginners and has around 15 routes graded from 3 to 6, mostly in grades 4 and 5. Check equipment and safety conditions on site. BeaudevĂ© is a former quarry: there is a climbing wall on the south side and a rest area and viewpoint for taking in the scenery on the north side. There are sculptures by a local artist on both sides.
