Ban-De-Laveline offers two clearly distinct hiking loops: an easy 5.3 km route and a moderate 10.5 km route. Both start and finish in the village. There is also a mountain biking loop to the Plateau de Sorémont, with panoramic views over the valley and a large part of the Saint-Dié-des-Vosges basin. Québrux, the present-day neo-Gothic church and regional cuisine also offer specific points of interest for a stay combining activity, scenery and culture.

Hiking: two loops and a high point

The “Circuit de la Tête des Roses” is an easy 5.3 km loop that starts and finishes in Ban-De-Laveline. The “Circuit pédestre - Pique-Nique à Sorémont” is longer at 10.5 km, is rated moderate and also starts and finishes in the village. This makes it possible to compare the two hikes by distance and stated difficulty: shorter and easy for the Tête des Roses, longer and moderate for the Sorémont loop. When choosing one of the two routes, you can use these specific details as a guide. Details of the Circuit de la Tête des Roses may change; check the current route description before setting out.

Another point of scenic interest is the “Les Petits Ordons” hiking trail. Its highest point is at Carrefour des Petits Ordons, at an altitude of 965 metres. This elevation gives it a different focus from the two loops with stated distances and difficulty levels, and offers a specific reference point when choosing a route.

Mountain biking to the Plateau de Sorémont

The “Circuit VTT - Plateau de Sorémont” mountain biking loop leads to the fitness trail and up to the Plateau de Sorémont. From there, you can enjoy panoramic views over the valley and a large part of the Saint-Dié-des-Vosges basin. Unlike the hiking loops, the focus here is on the mountain bike route and the named plateau as its destination; the view adds a specific perspective over the valley and basin to this scenic experience.

Québrux and the church

The mountain biking loop also passes through Québrux, described as the village’s oldest hamlet. It is home to typical Vosges farmhouses built in a row. This architectural aspect complements the scenery with a specific feature of the hamlet: its characteristically Vosges farmhouses, built in a row.

The present-day church in Ban-De-Laveline also offers a cultural point of interest. It is a neo-Gothic building and was consecrated at the beginning of the 20th century. Neo-Gothic refers to a later revival of Gothic design forms. Together with its consecration at the beginning of the 20th century, the stylistic description provides an architectural and historical reference point without requiring a more precise construction date.

Regional cuisine

For a taste of the local cuisine during your stay, the Maison de Laveline restaurant is a specific place to visit. It serves food made exclusively with fresh ingredients sourced from the market, as well as regional cuisine that changes weekly. As restaurant details may change and the regional menu varies each week, check the current offering before your visit.
