With Aéroparc in the centre and its historical heritage, Yutz offers a range of ways to enjoy a stay. If you’re planning to spend time outdoors, the park is a natural focal point; if you’re interested in history, you can explore the Vases of Yutz and the parish church of Saint-Nicolas. These themes give the choice of destination a distinct character.

Aéroparc: park and activity

Aéroparc is a 42-hectare park in the centre of Yutz. It includes a 2.5-hectare ornamental pond. The park has paths for pedestrians, joggers, cyclists and roller skaters. This lets you shape your visit around the kind of activity you prefer: a walk is one option, as is a more active outing. The paths make Aéroparc a destination in its own right for spending time outdoors.

The park is open year-round. From 15 April to 15 September, it is open daily from 7:00 to 22:00; from 16 September to 14 April, it is open daily from 7:00 to 20:00. The opening time is the same in both periods, while the park closes two hours later in the first period. Opening hours may change; check the times before your visit.

Archaeological and ecclesiastical history

Among Yutz’s best-known archaeological remains are the Vases of Yutz: two stamnoi and two oinochoai dating from the 5th century BC. Their precise dating places the vessels in a different period from the later milestones in the town’s history. The names identify two specific forms within the group.

The history of the parish church of Saint-Nicolas can also be linked to specific places and dates. The original parish church stood at the western entrance to the village; a council was held there in 846. The parish church of Saint-Nicolas was rebuilt in 1958. The council and the rebuilding are two distinct historical reference points: the former dates to the 9th century, the latter to the 20th century.

A more recent milestone in the town’s history is Yutz Plage. The municipal administration founded the summer event in 2020.

The timeline therefore spans the 5th-century-BC vases, the council of 846, the 1958 rebuilding and the founding of Yutz Plage in 2020.

Choose Yutz to suit your interests

When looking for a hotel in Yutz, it helps to start by weighing up what you want: should your stay focus more on Aéroparc and its paths, or on archaeological and ecclesiastical history? The opening hours provide a specific time frame for visiting the park, while the historical dates offer another perspective on the town.
