Thermal water at 41.5°C, historic trail markers and an art park with more than 100 surprises give you different reasons to visit Bagnols-Les-Bains. When looking for accommodation, you can start by deciding whether thermal baths, hiking, cycling or art will shape your visit.

Thermal Water and SPA

The spring at the Bagnols-Les-Bains thermal station has been flowing out of the mountain at 41.5°C for thousands of years. Its mineral waters have been known and used here since Roman times. At SPA Aqua Calida Bagnols-les-Bains, you can combine treatments of your choice with a half-day admission to create a personalized visit, on your own or as a couple. Check the current offerings before planning, as treatment details may change.

Hiking Trails with Views and Traces of History

The L’Oustal Crémat route passes through woodland with white oaks, beech trees, Laricio pines and Colorado firs, as well as by Château de Bagnols-les-Bains. The château was built in the 17th century, and its tower contains a spiral staircase. Along the route, you can also discover ancient boundary and trail markers, including crosses, menhirs and standing stones.

Another hiking option is the Ravin de Combelle route. North of the thermal station, it climbs to over 1,000 meters and offers panoramic views of Goulet and Mont Lozère. While L’Oustal Crémat combines woodland and traces of history, Ravin de Combelle focuses on elevation and views. In summer, the hike is accessible by public transport on bus routes 253 and 254. Check the timetables before you travel.

Mountain Biking

As an alternative to hiking, the easy Col de la Loubière VTT No. 22 mountain bike loop starts in Bagnols-Les-Bains. It passes through the Bois de la Loubière forest and is 15.604 kilometers long. Check trail conditions before setting off. This lets you choose between a hike with views or traces of history and a designated mountain bike loop, according to your interests.

Art Park and Village Scenery

Le Vallon du Villaret is a two-kilometer-long park in Bagnols-Les-Bains. Artists have created more than 100 surprises combining play and art there. Depending on your curiosity, the park offers three to five hours of shared experiences for all ages; many visitors also come without children. As seasonal access may vary, check in advance whether a visit is possible on your chosen date.

In the surroundings of Bagnols-Les-Bains, the Tour du Villaret has hosted art exhibitions and an artists’ workshop since it was developed in 1992–1993. If you plan to visit, check opening availability in advance. In the village itself, picturesque lanes and stone houses shape the scenery. Together, the thermal offerings, routes and art provide different ways to focus your stay—from the history of the mineral waters to shared experiences in the park.
