For your stay in Roissy-en-France, heritage and greenways offer two specific themes to guide your planning. The church of Saint-Eloi and the castle remains reveal the history of the area; the Vallée Verte focuses on landscape, outdoor activities and ecological education. A heritage walk lasting about an hour provides a clear historical reference point, while the nature trails offer other ways to get around. This makes it easy to choose based on your preferred focus.

Vallée Verte: Trails and Nature

The Vallée Verte is a 90-hectare natural area in Val-d'Oise. It has orienteering courses, walking trails and cycle paths. Educational trails illustrate the area's ecological richness and the role of its ponds in supporting local wildlife. The recreational area thus combines physical activity with nature education: you can focus on the trails, ecological topics or both.

If you prefer a circular route, follow the circuit, which is about 5,080 metres long. There are also six kilometres of freely accessible paths for walking, running and cycling. The Vallée Verte recreational area is open to residents, employees, school groups, families, visitors and tourists.

Heritage on the Walking Tour and in the Architecture

The heritage walking tour through Roissy-en-France is two kilometres long, takes about an hour and runs on a paved surface. It is suitable for urban and all-terrain strollers. The surface and access conditions may change, so check them before your visit. The tour comprises 16 reconstructed concrete slabs with QR codes providing information about each stop. The content of individual QR codes may be updated. The tour focuses on the village's agricultural past and the daily lives of its residents.

The church of Saint-Eloi is a Renaissance church with historical statues and gravestones dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. A date engraved on one of its buttresses seems to indicate that it was completed in 1574. The church was designated a historic monument on October 13, 1942.

The remains of Roissy Castle also have a historical connection: they are associated with the lords who lived there over several successive centuries. In 1925, the east gable of these remains was designated a historic monument. At Saint-Eloi, the inscription only possibly indicates a year of completion; for the castle remains, 1925 is the date the east gable was designated.
