Churches, chapel ruins and a former watchtower tell of different chapters in Talasani’s history. In the hamlet of Figaretto, there is also a seafront and beach-related activities; horse rides are available in options of varying durations. You can plan your stay around whether cultural history, a route or a horse ride is your main focus.

Religious buildings and their history

The parish church of Sainte-Lucie was rebuilt in the late 17th or early 18th century on the site of a chapel mentioned in a visitation report from 1646. A decree dated January 15, 1987, listed the parish church as a historic monument.

The former Franciscan monastery of Saint-François in Convento, Talasani, was built in 1636. It was dissolved during the French Revolution and burned down in retaliation the following year. This gives the monastery a different historical sequence from Sainte-Lucie: its history is shaped by its founding, dissolution and destruction by fire.

The medieval Romanesque chapel of San Petru dates from the 7th century; its ruins lie one kilometer north of Talasani. The chapel once belonged to the Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Sauveur and Saint-Mamilien. Together with Sainte-Lucie and the former monastery, it broadens the picture of the village’s religious architectural history.

The Prignani watchtower

The square watchtower of Prignani survives as a ruin on a hill northeast of the former village. It was intended to protect the village during the Barbary raids of 1541. Its documented function sets it apart from the churches and chapels: its former defensive role is the main focus here. For a stay centered on history, the tower is therefore a different point of interest from the religious buildings.

Figaretto: Seafront and route

Talasani has a seafront in the hamlet of Figaretto. The hamlet lies on the Talasani plain and is also associated with various beach-related activities. This gives the hamlet a different character from the historic buildings in the village.

Boucle 13 starts on the A Mandria track at the northern exit of Figaretto and passes through Talasani and Tagliu è Isulaccia. If you plan to follow the route, check access and trail conditions locally. Its starting point and the municipalities it passes through offer practical guidance for planning; the information provided does not indicate a walking time.

Horse rides of varying durations

Tavagn'a Cavallu offers three-hour horse rides in Talasani through the sea and mountains, with a swimming break. There are also two-hour rides in the mountains, as well as customizable day trips. The options differ in both duration and focus: the shorter option goes into the mountains, the three-hour ride combines the sea and mountains with a swimming break, and the day trip can be customized. Check the current participation requirements before making plans.

Choosing hotels in Talasani

When looking for a hotel in Talasani, it helps to decide what you want to focus on first: are the religious buildings and watchtower important to your plans, or are the route from Figaretto and a horse ride your priority? This will help you tailor your accommodation search to your own plans.
