Feliceto brings together riverside scenery and architectural and economic history. It also offers two distinct hiking experiences: the Boucle de Sant'Andria, with its historic gardens, mills and a Genoese bridge, and the hike to A Casetta di Falcunaghja. This gives you several themes to focus on when planning your trip, from local history to hiking.

Feliceto on the Reginu

The Reginu runs through the village and irrigates the plain of the same name. Feliceto is also located in the Montegrosso massif. The village can therefore be viewed in terms of both the river and the plain, and its location in the massif. These landscape features complement the individual buildings and trails, offering you a range of themes for your stay.

Church and underground house

The church of Saint-Nicolas, dedicated to Saint Nicholas, was built in several phases from the late 17th to the 19th century. The 14 Stations of the Cross in the church were painted by Saverio Farinole between 1720 and 1760. The building and its cycle of paintings thus offer two different perspectives on time: a long construction period and a more limited timeframe for religious art.

A Casetta di Falcunaghja offers a different architectural feature. The 17th-century underground house overlooks Feliceto from an altitude of 800 metres. Compared with Saint-Nicolas, the focus here is on its distinctive form and its position above the village. The hike to A Casetta is rated moderate and involves an ascent of 600 metres.

Hiking with different points of reference

The Boucle de Sant'Andria starts in Feliceto. It follows trails past the historic gardens and their mills, as well as over a Genoese bridge across the Regino. Its description therefore names specific stops along the route. By contrast, the moderate rating and 600-metre ascent are the key planning details for the hike to A Casetta. If you want to choose your walk based on waypoints, the Boucle offers those points of reference; for the hike to A Casetta, the difficulty and elevation gain are the concrete points of comparison. Check your equipment and local conditions before setting out on this hike.

Economic history and crafts

At the end of the 19th century, Feliceto's 600 residents made their living mainly from grain, olive oil, wine, chestnuts, crafts and livestock farming. The 200 hectares of olive groves supplied six mills. There were also 47 hectares of vineyards, 18 hectares of chestnut groves and 2,600 farm animals, including 2,000 sheep. The figures show the breadth of economic life at the time: it encompassed cultivation, processing, animal husbandry and crafts.

Feliceto's crafts include the workshop “Dans les yeux de Lucie”. It makes imaginative jewellery with 24-karat gold plating and gemstones, in small batches or as one-off pieces; custom-made pieces are also available. Alongside historic agriculture, this offers a specific example of craftsmanship and different ways of producing.

San Roccu and travel planning

The San Roccu festival features a procession and a Mass on August 16, as well as a major dance evening on August 16 and 17. Check the exact dates if you want to plan your trip around the festivities.

If you are looking for a hotel in Feliceto, you can choose the village based on your travel interests: riverside scenery, architectural history, historic forms of economic activity or hiking. The specific details about the hikes and the festival can help you plan around the themes that matter for your stay.
