Saint-Vincent-En-Bresse brings together farm-based cheese-making, architectural and milling history, and outdoor activities. You can plan your visit from different perspectives: a farm produces goat’s cheese, the church and mill each tell a different aspect of the town’s history, while walks and leisure activities complement its cultural attractions.

Cheese-making and workshops

Au Cœur de la Ferme makes organic goat’s cheese on its farm in Saint-Vincent-En-Bresse and sells it there. The cheeses mature for several weeks on wooden boards in a natural underground cellar. If you want to buy the cheese specifically, bear in mind that product availability can vary seasonally, and check what is available for your visit.

Au Jardin de la Vouivre offers workshops on making body balm and soap with felted wool. Workshop availability may vary; registration is by phone. Au Jardin de la Vouivre also makes cold-process soaps and natural cosmetics. If you are travelling for a workshop, check the opening hours and participation requirements in advance. The activities combine hands-on production with different themes: body balm and soap are the focus of the workshops, alongside cosmetics made on site.

Church and milling history

The church in Saint-Vincent-En-Bresse was built in the 12th century. Its bell tower and the bases of the nave walls have survived. The frescoes date from 1600 and are now barely visible. The construction date and the year of the frescoes therefore point to different historical periods; the state of preservation of the structural elements and the wall paintings also differs considerably.

Le Berthod is a mill on a pond and probably dates from the early 19th century. Its mechanism and millstone have been preserved inside. Unlike the church, the focus here is on milling technology rather than church architecture and frescoes. The dates also differ: the church was built in the 12th century, while the mill probably dates from the early 19th century.

Walks and outdoor leisure

Saint-Vincent-En-Bresse’s municipal forest is used for short walks and is also visited by mushroom foragers. Mushroom foraging is seasonal. If you want to forage, check the local conditions in advance and whether collecting is permitted. This lets you plan a walk and mushroom foraging as two different ways to spend time in the forest, without assuming that foraging is permitted.

The Liaurats leisure area has a footpath and offers outdoor games. Fishing at Étang des Liaurats is closed in 2026 because of work; the rest of the area remains accessible. For visits after 2026, check the conditions again. The notice is therefore limited to a specific period: it applies to fishing in 2026, while the rest of the area remains accessible during that time.
