Quétigny offers many different ways to explore: a marked walking trail links several parks, while historic buildings and the façades of the central housing complexes add their own distinctive touches. There is also golf, horse riding and a tram connection to Dijon station. This lets you plan your stay around a particular interest, rather than trying to fit everything into a single itinerary.

Walking trail and green spaces

The Entre Mirande et Cromois walking trail starts in Quétigny’s old town centre. The route is marked in yellow, is 7.5 kilometres long and is easy to walk; allow about 2 hours and 45 minutes. Along the way are Parc Henri-Détang and Parc du Grand-Chaignet; the route also follows the Cromois and the Mirande stream and passes through Parc des Cèdres. This loop therefore links several named green spaces in one continuous walk.

The parks each have their own features. Parc Henri-Détang has children’s play equipment and benches, as well as freely accessible boules courts. Parc du Grand Chaignet has play equipment, tables and barbecue facilities. Parc des Cèdres is heavily wooded and lies right next to Parc Henri-Détang and Église Saint-Martin. These differences can help you choose your route, from a walk through several parks to a visit focused on the specific facilities at one park.

Other paths add to the picture, though they are not the same loop. The Coulée verte runs between the Grand Marché tram stop and Espace Mendès-France. The Allées cavalières include a path between residential buildings and fields; this area has children’s play equipment, a sand basketball court and two sports and health stations. These destinations and features offer different starting points for planning a visit centred on walking, parks and exercise.

Architecture and local history

Église Saint-Martin was built between 1842 and 1846 on a small hill, on the site of an earlier building. Château de la Motte has different details to admire: the château has a multicoloured glazed-tile roof with geometric decoration and a French-style garden. Both buildings add distinctive architectural features to Quétigny.

The central housing complexes are also part of the town’s distinctive character. Their façades of coloured glass mosaic feature 134 shades. They are an essential part of the identity of the “ville-paysage” (landscape town), planned in the 1960s. Together with the church and château, they offer different perspectives on Quétigny: an old building site with a 19th-century church, a château with a strikingly decorated roof, and a deliberately planned urban landscape with colourful façades.

Golf, horse riding and games

Golf Bluegreen Quetigny Grand Dijon has an 18-hole course. The terrain is hilly, and the Mirande River winds through it. The facilities offer personalised lessons for all levels, from beginners to those looking to improve, either one-to-one or in group classes. Visitors who want to include golf in their stay will find both a course with clearly described landscape features and a choice of lesson formats.

At Centre Sportif Equestre Les Allées Cavalières, you can enjoy pony activities and horse riding for leisure or competition. In May, the centre hosts show jumping and dressage competitions. If you are planning your stay around one of these events, it is advisable to check the specific dates in advance. Another annual event is the Fête du jeu in Quétigny, organised by Ludothèque CSF and its partners. The toy library at La Parenthèse also lets you borrow more than 2,000 games or toys, or play on site.

Market and connections to Dijon

The Grand marché bio de Quétigny features around 50 local producers. This gives visitors another focus alongside green spaces, architecture and sporting activities. For travel between Quétigny and Dijon, tram line T1 is a useful reference point: it connects Quétigny town centre with Dijon station. In Quétigny, it serves three stops: Cap Vert, Grand Marché and centre ville. These names make it easier to include local destinations and the station connection in your plans, without assuming a particular journey time.
