Get to know Plobannalec-Lesconil through its distinctive highlights: activities on the water, the harbour and coastal landscape, and its architectural and megalithic history. The harbour is both a hub for water sports and the starting and finishing point of a cycling loop. For planning purposes, you can consider activities on the water, routes and cultural sites as separate itinerary stops.

Water sports, harbour and cycling route

The Centre Nautique de Lesconil offers sailing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, traditional boating, marine environment discovery and water-based hiking throughout the year. Activities are supervised by qualified instructors. During school holidays, additional options include courses over five half-days, a rental facility, and excursions and discovery activities that can be booked individually. Since schedules and availability may change, check the latest information if you are planning a specific activity.

The Port de Lesconil has 98 mooring buoys occupied year-round. In addition, the harbour provides around 30 berths at landing stages or buoys for stopovers and coastal trips. These figures refer to different types and purposes of berths: the 98 buoy berths are occupied year-round, while the additional berths are intended for stopovers and coastal trips.

If you would like to explore the area by bike, the Boucle n°3 Autour du Ster is a loop starting and ending at the Port de Lesconil, at Quai de Pontruche or at the Corniche car park. VTC, VTT, VAE and VTTAE bikes are recommended for the Boucle n°3 Autour du Ster.

Coast and waterside recreation

Plage des 4 Vents is 100 metres long and lies next to the harbour, the water sports centre and the shops. The beach offers water sports, volleyball and shore fishing. Different activities are therefore available, and what you choose to plan depends on whether you prefer time by the water, exercise or shore fishing.

The coastline itself also offers various reasons to visit. From the harbour towards Léchiagat, the shore is marked by unusually shaped rocks, including the Rochers du Goudoul. They are located in a protected natural area. Dogs are allowed there, but must be kept on a lead to protect the sensitive flora and fauna.

At Pors Riagat beach, you can follow the GR34 coastal path on foot. Check trail conditions before setting out, as they may change. The Circuit les dolmens circular walking route is a separate trail: it links inland landscapes with the coast and is marked with yellow PR and white-and-red GR®34 waymarkers. The coastal stretch at Pors Riagat and the Circuit les dolmens waymarkers are therefore two specific points of reference for walkers.

Chapel, megalithic sites and manor house

The Chapelle de Saint-Brieuc de Plonivel was rebuilt in the 15th and 16th centuries and combines Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque features. Its furnishings include a Baroque-Rococo high altar from the 18th century and a pulpit made in 1788 by the Marzin workshop in Pont-l’Abbé. The building and its furnishings span a period from the rebuilding to the late 18th century.

Kervadol has been classified as a historic monument since 1922. The site comprises two Neolithic burials, about 20 metres apart, within a burial mound approximately 60 metres in diameter. Quelarn, by contrast, comprises six Neolithic burials dating from around 3500 BC, with divided chambers and access corridors. The burials were once covered by a mound of stones.

The Manoir de Kerhoas was built in the 16th century and is considered a typical example of a manor house from the Cornouaille of that period. It served as a lord’s residence and an agricultural estate. Although the Manoir is privately owned, its grounds are open to visitors: the park, bread oven, well, orchard and barn. Access conditions may change; check them before your visit. There is also a shaded rest area for walkers at the Manoir by the Steir, with several wooden tables.

The reconstructed Chantier naval Le Cœur showcases the maritime heritage of Lesconil harbour. It displays numerous old tools and objects, as well as pictorial documents donated by local residents. The Chantier thus complements the coastal and harbour themes with a collection dedicated to maritime heritage.
