Discover Troguéry through its architectural history and the landscape along the Jaudy. Historic buildings include the gatehouse of the Kerandraou manor house, the Moulin du Cosquer and the Chapelle Sainte-Anne. Other local landmarks include the Église Saint Ildut, the Baie de Sainte-Anne and the Talus-murs. When planning your trip, it helps to take account of their different features and the visiting conditions for each site.

Architectural history and mill technology

The gatehouse of the Kerandraou manor house, also known as La Ville Basse, was built around 1390. The manor house is protected as a historic monument. Together, the date of the gatehouse and the protected status of the manor house offer a tangible introduction to Troguéry’s architectural history.

The Moulin du Cosquer is also known as Bili-Gwenn. It has been a museum of mill technology since the 19th century and was classified as a Monument historique on 20 December 1999. Its museum function and its later classification as a monument highlight different aspects of its history. Access may vary. If you are planning a visit, check in advance whether it is possible during your travel dates.

The Chapelle Sainte-Anne dates from the 16th century and retains elements of its original interior. The Église Saint Ildut tells a different architectural story: this heterogeneous building was altered several times between the late 14th and 19th centuries. Together, the two religious buildings represent different periods—a chapel from the 16th century and a church with several construction phases. In 2026, the Église Saint Ildut is closed; visitors must request the key from the town hall. Check this visiting requirement before your trip.

Landscape along the Jaudy and walking routes

The Baie de Sainte-Anne lies on a bend in the Jaudy. The right bank of the Jaudy estuary has been designated a protected landscape area since 25 February 1974. The bay’s location and the protected status of the right bank draw attention to two different aspects of the Jaudy.

Troguéry has numerous Talus-murs along municipal roads and around the bay of the Jaudy. They are therefore part of both the roadside surroundings and the landscape by the water.

Of the three associated routoirs at Gwenored, two are in Troguéry and one is in Pouldouran. The routoirs are near the Route des talus et des routoirs à lin walking trail. For hiking enthusiasts, the named trail is a useful point of reference; check route conditions before setting out.

The shore of the Baie de Sainte-Anne is easy to reach via loops for cyclists and walkers, as well as by car. Route conditions may vary, so it is a good idea to check them before setting out. This offers a practical distinction for planning your day: the shore can be reached in several ways, while visits to the mill and the Église Saint Ildut have their own access information. This lets you plan your exploration of the landscape and visits to historic buildings according to your interests.
