Joze in Puy-de-Dôme offers two ways to enjoy an active stay: the Allier loop trail and a canoe base. The route “Sur les bords de l’Allier” starts at Place de la Liberté and follows the river on an 11.6-kilometre loop. Compare the address of your holiday home with this starting point and check current trail and water conditions.

By the Water

The canoe base in Joze offers guidance from instructors and canoe equipment, including life jackets and waterproof containers. Check with the provider whether a place can be booked for your dates. The sensitive natural area of the Allier floodplain between Joze and Maringues is noted for its river dynamics and habitats. This does not mean that every stretch of riverbank is freely accessible. Fishing at Étang des Couleyras is temporarily prohibited until further notice following a fish die-off. Do not plan a fishing trip there unless you have verified that the current rule has changed.

Church and Accommodation

The Church of Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens has been in use since the 17th century. A project to rebuild and extend it was drawn up in 1846, and the work was completed in 1851. The Source de l’Ours is considered the most easily accessible of the four carbonated mineral springs in the commune. You should also check current access conditions here. The former Château Saint Mayeul is offered as accommodation; this does not mean that holiday homes are generally available or that its grounds can be accessed without a booking.
