More than ten hectares of woodland, a sound walk and an arena with a datable construction history give Saint-Vincent-De-Tyrosse several points of interest for visitors. The Bois de Fontaine offers scenery and outdoor activity; the Arènes Marcel Dangou, the Cinéma Grand Écran and “Vira & Vasa” add to the cultural offering. The weekly market, shops and train station bring further aspects of the town into your stay planning. You can balance nature, culture and everyday life according to your interests.

Woodland and orienteering

The Bois de Fontaine is a woodland area of more than 10 ha and is classified as an “Espace Boisé Classé” (protected woodland area). It forms an ecological corridor within the green axis of the Moulin de Lamothe. The stream that runs through the area gives this green axis its name. The woodland includes various habitats: a stream, wetlands, riparian woodland, meadows and dry woodland. Designated paths are intended for walkers and runners. The mix of wetter and drier areas gives the site a varied landscape.

The orienteering course leads into a natural urban area that is also classified as an “Espace Boisé Classé” (protected woodland area). It includes five orienteering routes between 1.2 and 5 km long and is intended for a wide audience. The distances give you a practical guide to estimating the scope of a planned activity. Check the route details before your trip.

Arena, cinema and sound walk

The Arènes Marcel Dangou combine a long construction history with the Course landaise. The arena was built in 1926; in 1934, the ruedo was remodelled to allow Spanish bullfights to take place there. Many well-known figures in the Course landaise have appeared in the arena. The construction phases and the connection to this tradition offer two different ways of looking at the same place.

The Cinéma Grand Écran has 280 seats, as well as five places for people with reduced mobility. Its programme includes national releases and premieres, mainstream films, a wide selection of “Art et Essai” films and films in their original version. As the specific selection changes, check the current listings if you are planning a cinema visit.

The “Vira & Vasa” sound walk blends imagination and reality. Each stop offers the opportunity to learn about the story of that place. Sound and local history take centre stage here—a different way of experiencing culture from the arena or cinema.

Les Jardins de l’Humanité

Les Jardins de l’Humanité is a 7,000 m² nature experience site with themed gardens and playful trails that engage the senses. The site includes an educational farm with animals and a small museum about schools in the past. The animals include peacocks, European pond turtles, a parrot, a llama, goats, a Pyrenean donkey, local sheep, as well as other domestic and farm animals. Opening is seasonal; check in advance which period applies to your visit.

Market, shopping and getting there

The weekly market takes place every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Place du Foirail. La Gasconie sells fruit, vegetables, meat, eggs and other products from short supply chains every week from Monday to Saturday. If you are planning to shop, check the opening hours and availability of the products you want in advance.

Saint-Vincent-De-Tyrosse train station has excellent connections. Check specific train connections and timetables to suit your travel dates. The cycling network is also relevant when planning: several sections run from Tosse and from Chemin de Mattecu towards the SNCF train station. The network is still being developed, so the existing sections reflect the current stage of development.
