Cross a water obstacle on a raft and arrive at Pihtla Community Park: the approximately one-kilometre-long Püha Soobiku discovery trail connects these two experiences. Pihtla adds brewery tours, ceramics and a medieval historical connection to the outing. You can choose between outdoor activity, insights into production and creating something yourself.

Trail and Park

The Püha Soobiku discovery trail is approximately one kilometre long, free for everyone to use, and ends at Pihtla Community Park. Along the way, you can cross a water obstacle on a raft. The park has adventure courses for younger children as well as for older and more experienced children. The courses are therefore suited to different age and skill groups. The route is straightforward to plan: the raft crossing is part of the trail, and the courses are at its endpoint in the park.

Brewery Tour and Ceramics

At Pihtla Õlleköök, brewery tours are led by the brewmaster. They introduce visitors to the brewery’s history, the brewing process and the local craft beer scene. This makes for a themed visit alongside the trail and its raft crossing. Tour content may change; check in advance whether a topic that matters to you is included in the tour.

At the Sari Ceramics Studio, visitors can create their own ceramic artwork in workshops. Check in advance whether a workshop date is available. The studio also displays handicrafts from Saaremaa, antiques and ceramics at Mini J.R. Pizza. This offers two ways to engage with ceramics: make something yourself or view the displayed works and objects. The exhibition complements the hands-on activity with a look at crafts and ceramics, without requiring you to make anything yourself.

Food and History

Mini J.R. Pizza in Pihtla serves pizza, burgers, fries and drinks. This is a different focus from a tour or creating something yourself: here, it’s about food and drinks. As the menu may change, check it in advance if you have particular dishes in mind.

The history of Pihtla Manor also goes back a long way: the manor, known in German as Pichtendahl, already existed in the Middle Ages. According to a description from February 2025, only ruins remain of the former manor house. This distinguishes the manor’s medieval history from today’s tours and workshops. The ruins are part of Pihtla’s historical character; the trail, brewery tours and ceramics activities offer other ways to explore the area.

The activities differ mainly in what you do yourself: experience the raft crossing on the trail, learn about the brewery and its production on a tour, or create your own piece in a workshop. If you prefer to look around, the studio also has ceramics and handicrafts on display; the food at Mini J.R. Pizza offers a separate culinary focus.
