Listed combines a rocky Baltic coast with walking trails, harbour life and visible traces of herring fishing. When looking for a holiday apartment in Listed, it helps to consider what you would like to focus on: coastal views and trails, or the history of the village. Here, the landscape, harbour and village history come together from different perspectives.

Coast and Harbour

The coast of Listed is rocky and offers views across the Baltic Sea. The route around Listed also takes in rugged rocks rising from the sea. From the harbour, you can watch sunsets in midsummer. The harbour is used by fishermen and recreational sailors and is sheltered from winds from all directions. Coastal views and a harbour shaped by different groups of users are two distinct facets of the village.

Walking Trails and Route

Sporet i Listed starts at a yellow box on a post in the car park at the harbour. From there, the trail crosses the stream and goes through the forest to the main road, then continues to Bornholm’s oldest oak, said to be 300 years old. The trail can be understood by looking at its starting point, route and destination.

On the Listed walking trail, you can look for edible plants that have been selected for identification. The Listed walking trail may be temporarily closed during hunting, and conditions for passing through also vary by season. Check the current conditions before including it in your plans.

Herring Fishing and Village History

Listed is first recorded in 1379. At the time, the Archbishop of Lund promoted herring fishing by having six fishermen’s huts built there. The distinctive white chimneys of former smokehouses keep this tradition visible in the village. Most no longer serve their original purpose, but they continue to shape the landscape and recall the centuries of herring smoking that shaped village life.

Listed Harbour Museum, Havnemuseet, tells the story of the village from medieval herring fishing to the present day. Visits can be arranged by appointment with the museum keeper, so arrange your visit in advance. The wider area around Listed also has a historical connection to Bornholm’s escape route: during the Second World War, Harald’s Harbour served as a secret departure point for Jews fleeing the island.

Farm, Waterworks and Harbour Activities

Across from the car park on Strandstien, where the Listed walking trail begins, is ListedgÄrd, an old, four-winged half-timbered farm. The old waterworks stand on Sporet i Listed; JÞrn Utzon designed them in 1951. Its hexagonal floor plan and roof covered with long grass are the recorded features of the building.

The harbour settlement has a ceramics shop and an arts and crafts shop. Check whether the shops are open before visiting. The trolling centre in the harbour is associated with jig boats and guided fishing trips. As activities may change, check availability in advance.

Trips in the Wider Area

BrÊndesgÄrdshaven Adventure Park is about two kilometres from Listed. A walk from the harbour leads to RandklÞve Cleft, which lies almost four kilometres to the north. The two destinations offer different outing options: one about two kilometres away, and another that you can reach on a walk north of the harbour. Check locally for current conditions before visiting.

If you are planning to travel beyond Listed, getting to Bornholm is also relevant. Bornholm can be reached by ferry, plane, bus or train. The ferry crossing from Ystad to Bornholm takes one hour and 20 minutes. Check current timetables before your trip.
