History and nature take centre stage in Snovídky, among the terrain traces of Hrádek u Snovídek, the Bezdýnka spring and the Kyjovka stream. The traditional Ostatky celebrations, with their masked parade, are another highlight. When planning your trip, first consider whether you want to time your stay to coincide with an event or explore historical traces and natural attractions. A bus connection to Vyškov adds a practical planning detail to the local points of interest.

Local history and living traditions

According to Volný, Snovídky was first mentioned in written records in 1360. Another historical connection is Tas z Ojnic: after becoming lord of Snovídky and the Bučovice estate, he was the owner of both Snovídky and Bučovice. Bučovice is 8 km to the west. Alongside the early written mention, the shared history of ownership and its geographical context are also central to the story.

The traditional Ostatky celebrations in Snovídky include a masked parade through the village. If you want to plan your stay around the event, check the date before you travel; dates may change.

Hrádek u Snovídek: terrain and uncertain dating

Hrádek u Snovídek is an abandoned castle, with terrain traces still visible. The ditch is up to 10 metres wide and 3 metres deep, and a rampart survives along much of the perimeter. The site is listed as freely accessible. Check access before your visit. Its historical context also remains uncertain: the castle probably dates from the Middle Ages, but it may also date from the Hallstatt period. It was presumably destroyed by fire. Thus, the site is defined both by concrete traces in the terrain and by an explicitly uncertain date.

Bezdýnka and Kyjovka

At the Bezdýnka spring, an information board describes the spring and the Bezdýnka educational trail. As of 2015, the spring could be reached by bicycle via a path, was flowing and was considered easily accessible. Check these conditions before your visit. You should also check the condition of the board and the educational trail on site.

Beavers have been present along the Kyjovka stream in Snovídky since 2004. This gives the nature theme a distinct point of interest alongside the Bezdýnka spring and its educational trail.

Cycling and bus planning

Cycle Route 473 (Těšanka) runs from Otrokovice to Rajhradice. It is of moderate difficulty and follows paved and surfaced paths. Signage and surfaces may change; check both before your ride. The start and end points, difficulty level and types of paths described provide specific information to help you plan your cycling route.

To travel from Snovídky to Vyškov, take bus line 650 via the Nesovice interchange to Bohdalice-Pavlovice. Then continue to Vyškov on line 156 or 166. Check the timetable and line numbers before travelling, as both may change.
