West of Rašovice lies the Rašovický zlom – Chobot Nature Reserve. It protects heat-loving plant communities of the Pontic-Pannonian type as well as wild animals. Together with the Mušenice and Žlíbek protected areas, the marked trails and the historic chapel, nature and local history provide two clear themes for planning your trip.

Natural Areas Around Rašovice

Rašovice is located close to the Ždánický les. The Rašovický potok flows through the village and has its source in the Rokle municipal forest and the Hrček spring area. This places the forest landscape near the village and a stream within Rašovice side by side as distinct geographical points of reference.

The Mušenice Nature Reserve lies south of Rašovice, and the Žlíbek Natural Monument lies to the east. Both protect heat-loving plant communities of the Pontic-Pannonian type and wild animals, especially amphibians. Together with the Rašovický zlom – Chobot to the west, they provide natural points of interest in three directions around the village.

Hiking and Cycling

Marked hiking trails pass through Rašovice. Cycling route 5098 also runs through the village, forming a 7.7-kilometre connection along forest roads towards the long-distance route on the ridge of the Ždánický les. Those wishing to explore the region on foot or by bike will find two distinct types of route: marked hiking trails through the village and a numbered cycling connection with a specified direction.

The voluntary association of municipalities Ždánický les and Politaví is once again organizing a cycling tour to explore the region. For the 2026 edition, participation cards are available at the Rašovice municipal office. For later editions, check whether cards are available for the relevant year.

Chapel and Local History

The filial chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius was built between 1865 and 1869 and consecrated on 19 October 1869. A large staircase leads from Rašovice to the chapel. Nearby stands a statue of Saint Florian dating from the second quarter of the 18th century.

The dates place the statue before the construction of the chapel: it represents an earlier period than the 19th-century religious building. This allows local history to be viewed through two clearly distinct eras without conflating the dates of the chapel and the nearby statue.

Dožatá and the Rašovický Goulash Festival

In recent years, Dožatá has included an exhibition of products, workshops, other activities and themed food tastings. The event therefore brings together several elements, from presenting products to culinary samples.

The Rašovický Goulash Festival continued in 2026; the first goulash festival took place on 30 August 2025 at Sokolka. At the 2026 edition, competing goulash dishes were cooked in cauldrons, and the prepared dishes were offered to the public for tasting. Unlike the varied format of Dožatá, the Goulash Festival centres on a competition featuring cauldron-cooked goulash.
