Nížkovice can be explored during a stay through three clearly distinct themes: the parish church and its historic organ, the landscape of the cadastral area, and destinations for outdoor activities. This lets you focus on local history or nature. For practical planning, the village is also connected to IDS JMK and has four bus stops.

Landscape and nature park

The cadastral area of Nížkovice lies at the foot of the Dambořická vrchovina, in a shallow valley. Its southern part extends into Ždánický les Nature Park. The landscape is therefore shaped by both the valley and the upland ridge, as well as by the nature park in the south. If you choose Nížkovice for its natural setting, it is helpful to note the precise boundary: the southern part of the cadastral area extends into the nature park; this does not apply to the entire village as a whole.

Parish church, organ and monument

The parish church “Farní kostel sv. Kunhuty” was built in 1727–1728. Its organ is a Baroque instrument made in 1846 by František Svítil of Nové Město na Moravě. The construction date and the year of the organ represent different historical reference points. If you are interested in church architecture, the parish church can be placed in context through its precisely dated construction; the instrument, organ builder and place of origin offer a separate point of reference for music history. At this sacred site, both the building and its historic furnishings are in focus.

Another cultural point of interest is the statue of Saint John of Nepomuk in the village square. It is listed in the Central List of Immovable Cultural Monuments. The church, organ and statue thus offer different perspectives on Nížkovice’s cultural heritage: architectural history, musical furnishings and the status of a listed monument. These are specific subjects to explore independently if you are visiting with a cultural focus.

Natural swimming pool and cycling route

Nížkovice has a natural swimming pool above a pond on the Nížovický potok. The pond and stream connect this destination to the local landscape. Marked cycling route 5099 offers another way to explore the surrounding area. It runs through Lovčičky, Kobeřice u Brna, Nížkovice and Heršpice. While the natural swimming pool is a single destination in Nížkovice, the cycling route passes through several named places. This lets you choose between a stay focused on a local natural attraction and a trip planned along the marked route.

Getting there and planning

Nížkovice is connected to IDS JMK and has four bus stops. If you plan to travel by public transport, check the latest timetables before setting off so that you can plan your journey for the day of travel. For mobility planning, the bus network and cycling route are two separate options: the stops are part of IDS JMK, while route 5099 is a marked cycling route that passes through Nížkovice. This lets you choose your mode of transport to suit your travel plans, without combining the bus journey and cycling tour into a single itinerary.
