Nevojice offers several reasons to visit, which can be planned around different interests: the Ždánický les has trails for cycling and hiking, while the Mokřad a vodní tůně Nevojice wetland combines an aquatic habitat with opportunities for low-key recreation. There are also vibrant Easter traditions and the parish church, a cultural monument. You can plan your stay around the landscape, outdoor activities or local traditions.

Forest Trails in the Ždánický les

The Ždánický les is predominantly covered with deciduous trees. From Nevojice, a moderate climb of about twenty minutes leads into the forest. This approximate time provides a practical guide for planning your day; the climb is a distinct part of the route into the forest. There is a network of surfaced forest trails suitable for cycling, as well as carefully marked hiking trails. This gives you two different ways to experience the forest: cycling on surfaced forest trails and hiking on marked trails. When planning, you can first consider which type of trail should be the focus of your stay.

Wetland with a Path, Boardwalk and Observation Point

The municipal Mokřad a vodní tůně Nevojice project was implemented in 2024/2025 and created a new aquatic and wetland habitat for a wide variety of organisms. At the same time, the area was adapted for occasional, low-key recreation. A gravel-and-grass path exclusively for pedestrians leads to the seating area and boardwalk; steps from the path lead to the observation point. The route thus distinguishes between access to the seating area and boardwalk, and the observation point, which is reached by steps.

The project also created tourist infrastructure to support cycling on EuroVelo4 in the direction of Bučovice–Nevojice. The wetland and cycling infrastructure serve different visitor interests: the pedestrian path leads to the waterside seating area, while the new infrastructure supports cycling on the named route.

Easter Traditions and Cultural Monument

The calendar also shapes Nevojice’s cultural life. The tradition of “Klepání” remains alive during the week before Easter; “Mrskut” is observed on Easter Monday and is also still practised. The two traditions therefore take place at different times around Easter. If you want to travel for them, plan around the relevant date and check the exact schedule in advance.

The parish church in Nevojice was declared a cultural monument on 12 November 1998. It adds another named aspect of local cultural heritage alongside the living traditions. Together, these offer different considerations for planning: forest trails are suited to cycling or hiking, while the Easter calendar determines when to experience Klepání and Mrskut. You can first decide what brings you to the area, then consider which other activities suit your stay.
