Sentice brings together scenery, cultural and historical landmarks, and a short exercise option. When deciding where to travel, you can weigh up whether the valley and river views, the chapel and statues, or a workout circuit on Horka best match your interests.

Valley, hills and the Svratka

Sentice lies in the Boskovická brázda, in a valley that runs from northeast to southwest. The direction of the valley provides a sense of orientation; the wooded slopes around Sentice are part of the Brno Massif uplands. Sentice offers beautiful views of the Svratka River. This allows you to consider three aspects separately: the course of the valley, the wooded slopes and the river views. If the landscape is important when choosing where to stay, these differences can help you decide whether Sentice suits your interests.

Chapel and monuments

The Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk stands in the centre of Sentice. It was established as a Roman Catholic church in 1878. A statue of the same saint is enclosed by an ornamental iron fence about one metre high. The statue of St. Florian is a free-standing sandstone sculpture about 3.5 metres high and is protected as a monument. The year 1766 is inscribed on the pedestal; this was noted during a revision in 1971.

The dates refer to different things: 1878 marks the establishment of the chapel, 1766 is the date inscribed on the pedestal of the statue of St. Florian, and 1971 is the year of the revision during which the date was noted. The statues also differ in their features: Florian is a free-standing sandstone sculpture, while John of Nepomuk is enclosed by an ornamental iron fence.

The Fit stezka on Horka

The Fit stezka na Horce is a circular route about 0.5 kilometres long, with nine exercise stations. It is located near the forest playground on Horka. The length and number of stations highlight different aspects of the circuit: the route is manageable in length, while the exercise stations make it geared towards physical activity. If you are including exercise options in your travel plans, you can use this information to decide whether the Fit stezka suits your itinerary.

Beer and point of sale

Sentické medové pivo Kvasar adds a specific product to the description of the village. It is brewed using traditional bottom fermentation. During maturation, real bee honey is added to the 15° and 13° varieties using a cold process. PIVO KVASAR s.r.o. sells its full range at manufacturer prices at Sentice 219. The point of sale is open Monday to Friday, except on public holidays, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you plan to shop there, bear in mind that it is closed on public holidays. Opening hours may change, so it is best to check them before visiting.
