The 1778 Rococo cross stands on an unusual red sandstone pedestal; at the same time, the cycling routes used in Rebešovice are part of the Brno–Vienna cycle network. This gives the town two distinct points of interest: buildings with clearly identifiable historical details and a cycling connection that forms part of a larger network. When planning your visit, you can decide whether to focus on cultural history or include Rebešovice in a cycling stage.

Buildings and local history

The Zámeček was built in 1694 by Provost Benno Brancouzský on the site of an older freehold estate. The building houses a castle restaurant and a library; check whether both are open before visiting, as their operating status may change. The Chapel of St. Dorota is also located in the Zámeček. Mass is held there every Saturday. If you plan around this, check in advance whether the schedule is still in effect.

Another sacred landmark is the Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk, a late Baroque building dating from the 18th century. A statue of the saint stands by a water source on the slope below the Zámeček. The chapel is considered a valuable cultural and historical monument and contributes to the character of Rebešovice. The chapel in the Zámeček and the separate building on the slope by the spring thus serve as distinct local points of reference.

The cast-iron Rococo cross is another notable historical detail. It dates from 1778 and stands on an unusual red sandstone pedestal featuring a high relief of Our Lady of Sorrows. There is also a rustic Neoclassical belfry in the village square. Built around 1830, it has a square ground plan. The cross is notable for its material and relief, while the belfry stands out for its square shape.

Cycling route and events

The Brno–Vienna cycling route runs mostly along quiet roads away from main roads and has no steep climbs. The cycling routes used in Rebešovice are part of this cycle network. In autumn 2022, the route through Rebešovice was changed and a new bypass was introduced: it initially ran along the riverbank, crossed fields to Rebešovický rybník, passed the local willow nursery and crossed a small bridge over the Ivanovický potok. Beyond the bridge, it rejoined the existing route towards Olympia. As routes can change, check the current route before setting off.

Events can also be a factor when planning your trip: TJ Sokol Rebešovice organizes numerous sporting events and tournaments every year. If you want to plan your trip around a specific date, check the event details in advance. The program for the edition of Rebešovické Hody described as traditional, held on February 7 and 8, 2026, included a procession of the Stárci through the village and a Moravská beseda performed by them in front of the Zámeček.
