The Holešovická tržnice is a protected heritage site in the south of Holešovice. Other visitor attractions range from art and history to leisure activities at Výstaviště. If you’re looking for a holiday apartment in Holešovice, you can tailor your choice to your plans: will exhibitions, technological landmarks or events be the focus of your stay?

Art programmes and event venues

DOX offers accompanying programmes in its exhibition spaces, in the Gulliver airship and in the multipurpose DOX+ hall. Programme details may change, so it’s worth checking the current listings before planning a specific visit.

Following its reconstruction, Holešovická Šachta offers three exhibition spaces with a total area of more than 350 m² for presenting art projects. It also hosts theatre performances, readings, lectures, concerts, workshops and film screenings. Its programme therefore extends beyond art exhibitions. If you’re planning your stay around a particular event, check the dates for your travel period.

Art, collections and technological history

The Marold Panorama at the Výstaviště complex is an 11-metre-high and 95-metre-long panoramic painting of the Battle of Lipany. Czech painter Luděk Marold created it in 1897–1898. Its dimensions, artist and historical subject give the work a distinct place among the area’s cultural attractions.

The Národní muzeum – Lapidárium houses a specialised collection of mostly stone Czech sculptures dating from the early Middle Ages in the 11th century through to the 19th century. As of 31 August 2026, the museum is closed for technical reasons until further notice. Check its status again before your trip, before planning a visit.

The Holešovický Port is an important technical monument. It connects river transport with rail and road traffic; its original buildings were constructed in the Art Nouveau style. Those interested in technology will find here a different perspective on the neighbourhood than in its art collections or panorama.

Things to do at Výstaviště

Mořský svět, located on the Výstaviště grounds in Holešovice, houses the largest exhibition of marine animals in the Czech Republic. It includes almost 150 animal species from Indonesia, Sri Lanka, South America and other countries. These figures give a sense of the exhibition’s scale and set it apart from the area’s art and history attractions.

There are also specific options for roller sports and swimming: Skateplaza Na Výstavišti is a 1,400 m² space for skateboarding and other roller sports. The Na Výstavišti swimming pool is a 25-metre pool in Holešovice. The Křižíkova Fountain at Výstaviště is currently used as a venue for one-off events, including concerts, shows, theatre performances and food events.

For getting around Výstaviště Praha, transport links are also relevant: the grounds have very good public transport connections and parking facilities.
