Zámrsky combines a distinctive settlement layout with historical landmarks, named cycle routes and the Luže sports complex. This gives you several reasons to discover the village: you can explore its local history, plan a cycle route through the village or reserve the use of the sports facilities. Geographically, Zámrsky lies at the last foothills of the Carpathians, heading towards the Bečva River. This provides a setting for the village description; the settlement’s distinctive form and historical details make the place more tangible when you visit.

Settlement Layout and History

The original buildings of Zámrsky form a horseshoe-shaped settlement. The later-established part of the village, Komanica, is separated by the Hať stream. This means there are two distinct areas to help you get your bearings: the original settlement and the later village district. The first written mention of Zámrsky dates from 1131 and refers to the place as Zamricc. The historical name and the settlement’s present-day layout offer two different insights into the village’s development.

The former manor farm of Kamenec lies within the cadastral area of Zámrsky. In the past, it was the site of a village of the same name and a knight’s residence. This history is associated with a former settlement and is therefore distinct from the parts of the village visible today. For those interested in historical development, this offers another explicitly past chapter in the area’s history, in addition to the early written mention.

Chapels and Memorials

The Chapel of Our Lady of Hostýn was built in 1867 and renovated in 1930. The original sheet-metal bell currently hangs inside. The dates briefly record its construction and later renovation; the bell adds a specific detail to this history. Another building chronology concerns the Chapel of St. Wenceslas: the site was blessed by Father František Král on 29 July 2001. The chapel bells were blessed on 15 September 2002, and construction was completed on 27 September of the same year. The blessing of the site, the blessing of the bells and the completion of construction were three separate milestones.

The war memorial in Zámrsky was erected in 1916. Its granite plaque bears the names of 20 people who fell, died or went missing. Its year of construction, material and the groups of people named make the memorial a specific part of the village’s history, without reducing its significance to a single category.

Cycle Routes, Getting There and Staying

The signposted long-distance Jantarová stezka cycle route passes through Zámrsky. The Greenways C1 stage, “Castles and Historic Towns,” also runs through the village. The two routes are separate planning options; before setting off, check the current route, as details may change. This lets you plan the route that suits your cycling plans separately from your other visits around the village.

The Hranice–Kelč–Dolní Těšice bus route passes through Zámrsky in both directions. Check the current timetable before making a specific journey. By road, access is via road 4395 from Hranice, through the village and onwards towards Němetice and Kelč. The bus service and road connection offer different points of reference, without implying a specific journey time.

At the Luže sports complex, you can reserve a multi-purpose sports ground and its associated facilities. If you plan to include this in your stay, arrange your reservation in advance. If you are looking for a holiday apartment in Zámrsky, you can base your choice of location on your interests: cycling on named routes, local history or a planned visit to the sports complex. These options offer a practical basis for deciding whether Zámrsky suits your plans.
