Čelechovice combines local history with a landscape setting that can be clearly placed within the region. The first written mention of the village dates from 1190; in the same year, Čelechovice was owned by the Olomouc Chapter.

Landscape and regional orientation

Čelechovice lies in a valley among gently rolling loess hills, at the transition between Haná and the last foothills of the Oderské vrchy. Both landscape references are relevant to placing the village within the region. The Kopřivnice stream also flows through the village. This distinguishes the broader landscape from a watercourse that runs directly through Čelechovice. The village is also halfway between Přerov and Olomouc—another geographic reference point for planning your trip.

Chapel and local history

The Chapel of St. Anthony and St. Vendelín stands on the road in the village centre. It dates from 1825 and was reconstructed in 2005 after a severe storm. The two dates mark different stages in its history: its construction and a later restoration. Local historical references therefore span from the first written mention to a 19th-century building. Traditional Hodové masses are held in the chapel; check current service times locally. Two memorial crosses also stand in Čelechovice, adding to its local commemorative landmarks.

Hodové celebrations and cycling

The Hodové celebrations took place from 14 to 16 June 2024, from 13 to 15 June 2025, and from 12 to 14 June 2026. All three periods fell in mid-June, but started on different days. If you are planning to attend a future celebration, check the announced event dates.

The “Okolo mikroregionu Dolek” cycling route passes through Čelechovice. This provides a specific regional cycling connection alongside the cultural and historical references. The route is another point of interest for travellers who want to take cycling into account when choosing a destination.

Memorial sites and protected nature

Outside the village, south of Čelechovice, the wooded slopes of the 300 m-high Hradisko rise above the landscape. A symbolic mound at its summit serves as a memorial to the establishment of the Czech state. The protected natural monument “Přírodní památka Lhotka u Přerova” is also nearby. It lies on steep slopes around the Olešnice stream and protects rare xerothermic vegetation adapted to dry, warm conditions. The two sites have different focuses: Hradisko is primarily a place of remembrance, while Lhotka protects distinctive vegetation.

Getting there

A lowest-class road runs through Čelechovice; no railway passes through the village. Its location halfway between Přerov and Olomouc helps with regional orientation, while the road and rail details describe the transport infrastructure in the village. Check the conditions for your specific journey before travelling.
