Bizovac offers two distinct reasons to visit: at Kurija Normann, you can discover local traditional costume culture, while BizovaÄŤki bajer consists of several former clay-pit lakes. Different conditions apply when planning your visit: the exhibition is open on weekdays by prior arrangement; swimming is seasonal. You can include both culture and time by the water in your stay, while taking the respective visiting conditions into account.

Kurija Normann and BizovaÄŤko blago

Kurija Normann, also known as Dvorac Normann Prandau-Ehrenfels, is a 19th-century manor house in the centre of Bizovac. It has preserved features of its original period and style. The manor house contains the permanent exhibition “Bizovačko blago,” featuring original men’s and women’s traditional costumes from Bizovac. The architecture and clothing offer different insights into local history and culture.

The exhibition can be visited on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. by prior arrangement. As these visiting arrangements may change, it is advisable to confirm them before travelling. So don’t plan your visit as an unannounced, spontaneous stop.

BizovaÄŤki bajer: former clay-pit lakes

BizovaÄŤki bajer consists of several lakes formed by earlier clay extraction. Together, they cover around 15 hectares. In summer, visitors can fish, swim and bathe there. The waters are managed by the local fishing club Bandar. This makes a visit to the water quite different from the pre-arranged cultural visit to Kurija Normann.

Swimming and fishing depend on seasonal conditions. Check the conditions locally before planning these activities. Summer is particularly relevant for a stay by the water; the exhibition, on the other hand, follows its own weekday opening hours and requires a prior arrangement.
