The parish was re-established in 1789; the parish church of the Holy Spirit was built in 1832/33. Its architecture shows features of the late Baroque and Classicism. The “Lovrakovi dani kulture” have been held in Veliki Grđevac since 1987 in honour of the writer Mato Lovrak.
