Živike between Posavina and the Sava

Živike is located in Crnac polje, in the central Posavina microregion of the Slavonian interfluve. The HR2000424 Vlakanac-Radinje area stretches along the Sava from Davor to Pričac and reaches Živike. It includes representative floodplain forests of pedunculate oaks. The Chapel of St. Catherine, Virgin and Martyr, in Živike was built around 1730.

The roads also provide specific reference points for finding your way around the region: County Road Ž-4203 connects Živike with Lužani, while Local Road L-42027 runs from Živike to Pričac. These are two different connections, each linking Živike with a different neighboring settlement.

Staying at the Kereković Estate

Kereković is a rural tourism estate in Živike. Accommodation options include camping in tents and staying in a traditionally furnished room inside a barn. The choice therefore comes down first to the basic type of stay: a night in a tent or a room in a building. The estate’s buildings also include an old barn with a cellar and an original, 140-year-old wooden apartment.

Camping and the barn room are two clearly distinct accommodation options at the estate. Horseback Riding, Carriage Rides, and Experiences on the Sava

Kereković offers horseback rides along the Sava and on trails around the eight-hectare ranch. There are also carriage rides with eight Lipizzaners. If you are looking for an activity involving horses, you can choose between a horseback ride and a carriage ride. Each has a different focus: the horseback ride follows the Sava and trails around the ranch, while the carriage ride is offered with Lipizzaners.

You can also experience the Sava in two different ways: on a horseback ride along the river or on a trip aboard the Graničarka tourist boat. Boat excursions on the Sava include food tastings. Fishing is offered at a nearby freshwater pond in an area of about three hectares. Traditional games are also part of the estate’s activity offerings. Alongside the horse-related activities, you can also choose a boat trip, fishing, or traditional games.

Homemade Dishes and Tastings

Kereković serves homemade dishes prepared with ingredients produced at the estate and in Živike and Pričac. Tastings include homemade rakija, wines from the Oriovac area, kulen, and švargl. For the culinary part of your stay, you can choose between a homemade meal and tastings of individual products; both are offered at the estate.
