Jundiaí’s attractions range from the preserved forests of Serra do Japi to railway history, art and wine traditions. When deciding what to see, it’s worth considering which focus interests you most: nature, museums and collections, or the Festa da Uva. If you first organize your trip around your interests, you can then search more purposefully for hotels in Jundiaí.

Serra do Japi: Nature as a Travel Focus

Serra do Japi has preserved forests and abundant flora and fauna; it is considered a biosphere reserve. Its attractions include hiking trails, springs, cascades and viewpoints. This offers a choice of different nature experiences: if you mainly want to be active, the hiking trails are an obvious focus; springs, cascades and viewpoints offer other highlights. The forests and diversity of flora and fauna add another dimension to the landscape. This makes it easy to consider Serra as a nature focus in its own right, alongside Jundiaí’s museums and cultural attractions.

Railway History and City History

At the Museu dos Ferroviários, visitors pass through themed exhibits featuring documents, photographs, newspapers and objects related to railway history. These include locomotive replicas, suitcases, ticket machines and station furniture; a working model complements the exhibition. The collection brings together written and visual records with objects from everyday railway life. If you’re interested in the history of rail, the museum offers a clearly defined way to explore the subject. For planning a visit, it’s a good idea to check the current opening hours.

The Museu Histórico e Cultural de Jundiaí – Solar do Barão offers a different perspective. Its permanent exhibition focuses on the building, the Barão de Jundiaí and the Fratelanza Italiana. The Solar also has a garden shaded by trees throughout, where visitors can relax, read and enjoy some leisure time. Its focus differs from that of the railway museum: here, the emphasis is on a historic building, a named historical figure and the Fratelanza Italiana; the garden also provides a place to take a break.

Art, Architecture and Wine Traditions

The Pinacoteca Municipal Diógenes Duarte Paes, in the Centro Jundiaiense de Cultura, houses an art collection of 189 works, including 15 sculptures. It features artists from Jundiaí as well as Brazilian and international artists. The Pinacoteca building on Rua Barão de Jundiaí is over 100 years old and was designed by Ramos de Azevedo. The collection and the architecture offer two different perspectives: the diverse origins of the works and the history of the building. In this way, the Pinacoteca complements the railway and city history with a focus on art and architecture.

The Festa da Uva brings together wine traditions in an annual festival. Its first edition took place in 1934 in the Traviú neighborhood and welcomed more than 100,000 visitors at the time. At the Pisa da Uva, everyone is invited to dance on grapes in vats; the activity represents traditional winemaking. The festival offers various attractions each year, and the program may change from one edition to the next. If you’d like to include the Festa da Uva in your travel plans, check the dates and program for the relevant edition.

Another wine-related attraction is Villa Brunholi. The complex includes a wine-making facility, a wine cellar, a restaurant, a wine museum and a mini-farm. While the Festa da Uva also celebrates wine through a traditional communal ritual, Villa Brunholi brings together several distinct elements related to wine, gastronomy, museums and agriculture. Jundiaí therefore offers different cultural ways to explore this subject.
