Itá offers a wide variety of experiences for your stay: native forest and trails, treetop activities, thermomineral pools and viewpoints. For your planning, it helps to group these experiences by interest: nature trails, water, activities at height or views of the city and dam. This way, you can choose which aspects of the area matter most to you.

Forest trails and nature experiences

The Eco Parque by Itá Eco Turismo covers 25,000 square meters of native forest and has 1.8 kilometers of trails. The Eco Parque also includes an elevated walkway through the treetops. Itá Eco Arvorismo is about 200 meters long and runs high among century-old trees. At Itá Eco Zoobotânico, by contrast, the focus is on nature collections: 106 cataloged plant species and 100 native and exotic bird species. The numbers of species may change.

Trilha do Serelepe

Trilha do Serelepe is located at the Horto Botânico of the Usina Hidrelétrica Itá. The trail is 1,064 meters long, fully shaded by trees and paved. You can choose between a route with all the stops and themes, and an easier-access route for people with reduced mobility. Environmental information and interactive activities are also part of the visit. Tours are led by the Centro de Divulgação Ambiental of Consórcio Itá. Advance booking is required from Tuesday to Friday; no appointment is needed on Saturdays. Check the visitor guidelines with the operator before you arrive.

Pools, lake and zipline

Aqua Parque Itá Thermas has twelve pools with thermomineral water for children and adults. Operating conditions may vary seasonally. Prainha is a swimming area on the lake at the Usina Hidrelétrica Itá; it has a 2,000-square-meter stretch of sand. This gives you two distinct water experiences: pools and a swimming area by the lake.

A 1,780-meter zipline route runs from the city center over Aqua Parque Itá Thermas and the Eco Parque, crosses part of the lake and ends at Prainha de Itá. Attendants accompany the ride, and safety equipment is used. If you want to plan your trip around the ride, check with the operator in advance to see whether it will be available during your visit.

Two different viewpoints

The Mirante offers views of the city and Lago de Itá. The Mirante do Vertedouro da Usina Hidrelétrica de Itá looks out over the dam and the main spillway structure of the Usina. The viewpoints therefore have different subjects: the city and lake at one, and the dam and spillway structure at the other.

Practical amenities in the center

Estação Galeria in the center of Itá has a shop, shopping options and restrooms. If you depend on a particular service, check in advance whether it is available, as individual services may change.
