At each edition of Expo Tapejara, the event brings together thousands of visitors, businesses, producers, entrepreneurs, and families at Parque Municipal Ângelo Eugênio Dametto. The cultural program, food, and shows for visitors of all ages make it a versatile reason to travel to Tapejara. Events and Motorsport

For planning purposes, Expo and Rodeio Interestadual take place at different times. Expo dates depend on the edition; the Rodeio takes place in January of even-numbered years. Motódromo Municipal Paulinho Chiaparini is located in the same Parque Municipal. The facility has a motocross track and a velocross track; motorsport programs may vary. Thus, the Expo venue and a municipal motorsport facility are located in one park, while the Rodeio has its own event date. These are different reasons to plan a trip: Expo brings a wide-ranging cultural and food program, the Motódromo features two specific track types, and the Rodeio follows its January schedule in even-numbered years.

Cultural Sites and the History of an Araucaria

Gruta Nossa Senhora de Lourdes offers a different cultural connection. It is set in a wooded area, houses an image of Our Lady of Lourdes, and has facilities for celebrations. The religious image, green surroundings, and celebration facilities are three distinct features of this place. They add a local point of interest to the event themes, with a character that does not depend on a changing annual program.

The history of an araucaria tree is also one of Tapejara’s distinctive local stories. The tree, more than 400 years old, was once considered one of the municipality’s main attractions. In 2015, part of the araucaria was felled due to strong winds; the remaining trunk was completely hollow. On January 22, 2016, this trunk was transformed into the Monumento Arcângelo Pereira (in memoriam). The monument was intended to be displayed in Parque Municipal Ângelo Eugênio Dametto. The sequence of events—the 2015 storm and the transformation of the remaining trunk in 2016—makes this story more than a description of a once-prominent tree.
