Nova Pádua combines wine experiences with a town center full of distinctive cultural attractions and activities in the landscape of the Rio das Antas. When planning your trip, it is worth distinguishing between the different types of visits: some wine tastings and activities require a reservation, while Feprocol takes place on announced event dates. This lets you choose what to focus on without assuming that different offerings are part of one combined program.
Town Center, Culture and Events
At the center of Nova Pádua stands the Igreja Matriz. The Campanário de Pedra is right beside the church, and Praça Dom Júlio Scardovelli is in front of it. These three places give a clear impression of the layout of the town center. The São Paroquial accommodates 1,500 people and hosts the community’s most important religious and social celebrations.
A public cultural event in the town center has been announced for the 16th Feprocol, coordinated by the municipality of Nova Pádua. The dates are February 25–28 and March 4–7, 2027. Check the dates again before traveling if you want to plan your stay around the event.
The religious and artistic side of the town is also reflected in its details: the Capitel Maria Mediadora e Distribuidora de Graças has five columns connected by a five-pointed star. It features a statue of the Madonna made of white Carrara marble, created by Nicola Vitto. At Arte Pádua Casa do Artesanato, visitors can find souvenirs, colonial products and handicrafts. These include macramé, crochet, fabric painting, straw hats and wicker baskets, made using a process passed down through generations. Opening days may change, so check before visiting.
Wine, Tastings and Regional Products
The offerings vary in focus for wine enthusiasts. Cave de Angelina specializes in small batches of artisan sparkling wines made using the traditional Champenoise method. Tours and tastings directly from barrels and tanks are available by reservation. Check the visiting arrangements before your trip.
Boscato focuses on groups who want to learn about the winery, taste wines and spend time together. Its food and wine area includes a sensory analysis room, a restaurant and a wine shop. Group arrangements may change, so confirm the details in advance. Boscato’s vineyards are located in the upper Rio das Antas area, on steep slopes at elevations of up to 800 meters. Altos Montes, the wine region encompassing the municipalities of Nova Pádua and Flores da Cunha, offers further regional context for understanding the wine offerings.
Views and Experiences in the Municipality
Complexo Belvedere Sonda has a platform at an elevation of 450 meters, with views of the Rio das Antas valley. From there, you can also see parts of the Castro-Alves Reservoir, the manual ferry between Nova Pádua and Nova Roma do Sul, and Cachoeirão. Base Turismo offers customizable sightseeing trips in a converted military truck; they depart from Complexo Belvedere Sonda. Reservations are required, and you should confirm the schedules.
Giro Di Pádua offers a different perspective: the Vespa ride is a way to discover Nova Pádua and its attractions. It follows roads through vineyards, fruit trees, valleys, mountains and scenic viewpoints. Reservation and operating details may change, so check them before making plans.
In the municipality, Adrenalina Vertical offers trekking and rappelling, which require advance reservations. The Via de rapel Rossi has a rappelling route of approximately 40 meters. At Cascata Lusa, the rappel passes through a waterfall with a drop of more than 70 meters. Check operating conditions before booking.
Trilhas Pé no Mato offers everything from easy trails for families to challenging routes with climbing sections and stretches through water. The routes cover the area of Nova Pádua, and reservations are required. The offering also includes a night hike with merendin in colônia, a traditional picnic of the immigrants. You can choose between hikes with different levels of difficulty and a special combination of a night hike and regional tradition.
