A central lake, paths along a river and local markets give a trip to Dois Vizinhos several different focal points. Parque e Gruta Lago Dourado is a 72,500 m² urban recreation area surrounding a central lake. The lake covers 40,000 m². Lago Dourado also has a route for walking and running, exercise equipment, a children's playground and a picnic area. Visitors looking to include nature and activity in their trip will find several options in one named location.

Trails, a lake and religious sites

For a longer walk, Parque EcolĂłgico Jirau Alto has a trail of about 1,700 meters along the Rio Jirau. A much shorter route is available at Bosque da FĂ©: its 150-meter path leads to Gruta Nossa Senhora de Lourdes. There is an image of Nossa Senhora de Lourdes and an altar for religious services. The trail along the Rio Jirau, at about 1,700 meters, is considerably longer than the 150-meter path to Gruta Nossa Senhora de Lourdes.

UTFPR's Fazenda Experimental also brings together nature and agriculture: the grounds include an ecological trail and a medicinal plant garden. There are also production models and agricultural practices there. Farmers, technicians and other experimental stations can visit them. For travelers interested in agricultural practices, this offers a distinct focus alongside the trails and green spaces.

City history and culture

Escadarias Coloridas is a place for sightseeing and physical activity; from the top, visitors can enjoy a partial view of the city. Memorial da Sete offers another way to explore the city's history. It displays historical photographs of the city as images painted on ceramic tiles, set into the walls of one of the city's first brick buildings. Historical imagery and an early example of the city's architecture come together here.

At Moinho Colonial e Cascata Paladini, a stone mill founded in 1956 stands beside the cascades of the same name. The Paladini family maintains the mill. Museu de Antiguidades do Toninho displays more than 1,000 antiques, particularly musical instruments and kitchen utensils. Visits are by appointment; arrange your visit before you arrive.

Markets, lunch and local products

Feira do Campo, also called Feira do Produtor, sells products from family farms: fruit, vegetables, baked goods, colonial cheeses, salami and handcrafted drinks. Individual vendors may vary. For an Italian lunch, Cantina Gury serves typical dishes prepared directly in a wood-fired oven. The cantina sells cheese, wine, salami and colonial products by arrangement. At Praça da Amizade, also known as Praça do Pedágio, you can find snacks, portions and draft beer; the specific selection may vary. A market visit, lunch and shopping for local products offer distinct culinary options.

Events and trip planning

Parque de Exposições de Dois Vizinhos hosts a variety of events: livestock shows and auctions, commercial, industrial and agricultural fairs, classic car shows, religious gatherings, themed festivals and music events. A special event is Expovizinhos. Held every two years at the exhibition park, it attracts many visitors with Brazilian music concerts. Programs and individual editions may vary; check the dates for your travel period.

Trezena e Quermesse de Santo Antônio is also a recurring event: it takes place every year at Igreja Matriz of Paróquia Santo Antônio de Pádua. It includes 13 nights of Eucharistic celebrations and a closing celebration on June 13. Check the dates and program before your trip. This lets you factor regular events into your plans, or instead—or additionally—focus your stay on nature trails, city history or regional cuisine.
